If it's a straight swap between FH and Ensico, Buonanotte, Barco and Ferguson I'll take the players.
Barco’s loan includes a compulsory purchase doesn’t it? It which case he won’t be back regardless of the manager.

Unless we have a really strong finish to the season, maybe the board will agree with you. And if we do have a really strong finish to the season I guess we’ll all be happy keeping Hurzeler.

It’s being reported as such. That said, we had a strange buy-back option with Undav, which I never fully understood, so maybe there’s something similar in this deal.

Maybe we will in the summer. Perhaps the board are unsure on Hurzeler but are giving him to the summer.

If things don’t go well for the rest of the season and they get rid of him then Ferguson can have a fresh start with us under a new manager.

If Hurzeler does well then maybe Ferguson will be off.
Huerzeler hasn't been convincing all season.
28 games in and the closest we've come to a strong 90 minutes is Norwich (who fielded a significantly weakened team).

plenty of people got carried away with several lucky results in the early games.

The disappointing results against Ipswich/Wolves/Leicester/Southampton/Everton/Palace/West Ham/Fulham/Forest (twice)
Far outweigh the good results from Everton/City/United (twice)/ Spurs/Bournemouth/Arsenal (twice)/Newcastle.

The 20 minutes of good football at Forest has been a constant throughout the season.
We could easily have lost many of the games we won.
Huerzeler talks about consistency and intensity all the time but fails to deliver it.

I don't need any of the rumours of unrest to be true, to know this guy hasn't got it at this level.
He may have it at some point, but we can't afford to develop a young manager at this stage of the club's journey.

Ditto with the games we drew. I'm not going to gloss over, or make excuses, for Saturday, as it was awful. But, we are an average mid-table team and this is what happens....you win some, lose some and draw some. Had we won all the games you listed, we'd be 2nd in the table and challenging for the title.....we're clearly not a title challenging team so some perspective is needed.

we can't afford to develop a young manager at this stage of the club's journey.
1) We clearly can.
2) Part of the discussion I had over the weekend was the idea that maybe Hurzeler has been taken on as a manager with potential, one for the future, one who will develop and improve over time.

It isn't about the results in those games.
It's the performances in all of them.

Potter and De Zerbi both had disappointing results, but we often battered the weaker teams and came away with little or nothing.

I'm sure Huerzeler has loads of potential.
The question is, was he ready for the step up, and can we risk giving him the time he needs to reach it.

Like it or not, we can give him another half season as we are not going to be in a relegation battle. It could get very toxic at the Amex if we lose the next two. TB has already shown with Hyypia that a toxic crowd will not swing his decision though.

FH is here until the end of the season, regardless, imo

I think Bloom has risked it and will give him time.

You don’t hire a young inexperienced manager, then fire him after 24 league games with 34 points on the board.

So yours and others talk of him being fired - it’s not going to happen, Tony has taken a gamble, I dare say it might be going better than he actually expected.

There's that entitlement again. We should lose the next 2 Chelsea are better than us and have a billion pound+ squad.

It's all speculation, but I think how we play on Saturday will reveal a lot about whether the players are playing for him and his ability to inspire/motivate the team. Another abject defeat would tell us a lot.

Oh yeah I don't doubt that.
He needs to start massively turning things around from here if he wants to keep his job.

The home form has been terrible for a long time.
The Palace and Everton results were far worse than the Forest result, which was fully expected once Baleba and Ayari were out.
Losing the game was excusable, losing it by so many and by playing that formation was not.

This is a very harsh assessment. I agree we have mostly played well only in patches, but the games against Arsenal, City, Spurs and United were excellent. We were superb in the first half at Anfield. A lot of the draws against bottom half teams we really deserved to win.

I haven't said he will be fired mid-season.

I fully expect him to be here on May 25th.
But I would hope he understands that a drastic change in performance levels are required if he is to still be here in June.

Spurs was not excellent.
They capitulated.
The first half ( Hinshelwood DM) was appalling.

City and United were both in turmoil and we played well, got very lucky with teh Utd home game.

Both Arsenal results turned on some very unusual decisions.
I wouldn't say we were excellent in them.

deserved to win?

I don't think we deserved to win the two we threw away, because we threw them away.

The others we definitely didn't deserve to win.
We may have been the better side, had more possession, a few extra low xg shots, but that doesn't mean we deserved to win.

You might be right, I would say you probably are, but I'm not 100% confident there is squad harmony though and that might be the harder thing to manage than fans expectations.

You don’t think we have an entitled fan base now?

Look where we are in the table and then check out the posts on here after the last two games!

I have been suggesting it since Potters last full season when we moved into to the “we should be beating teams like ……” mode in match day threads when we didn’t ( and don’t).

Remember the last home game against Forest as an example :lolol:

Done a Frexit, now in London
Is Wellbz injured yet? Baffling decision this, along with Encico and letting the ginger ninja go when we lack players in that position. Either someones hacked the algo or blooms lost the plot. If west ham finish above us I'm sending a strongly worded letter.
