There was only so long he could ride his luck, having the luxury of quality players, while at the same time being utterly tactically inept.

It was a ridiculous run to get to the final. We were lucky with the draw, but even then Southgate didn't make it easy for us. But we were never going to win the thing in the final, when we had a manager with no real strategy.

The biggest error has been the persistence with Kane. In tonight's game at the very least he should not have come out for the second half.
