All this talk of wanting countries to win that we've gone to war with doesn't sit well with me, especially this week. In fact I feel a little bit sick about it all. If Groß has the deciding penalty in the semi-final shootout to knock out England, I'll hope that the Kraut misses.

Maybe I'm just proud to be English?

It's football. I feel as detached from shit that happened 80 odd years ago as Pascal no doubt does, and certainly wouldn't hold it against modern-day people, just the same as I wouldn't expect people from countries we've colonised and maybe not been very nice to over the years to hold it against me, as someone who played absolutely no part in what happened.

How many Brighton players are at the tournament?

Dunk, Gross, Undav, Verbruggen, Moder, Gilmour. Have I forgotten anyone?
Plus four former Albion players, by my reckoning:-

Belgium - Leandro Trossard
Denmark - Anders Dreyer
Slovenia - Jan Mlakar
Spain - Marc Cucurella

That’ll teach me to get enthusiastic about England for the first time in ages. I was chuffed to see Waistcoat pick in form players for the squad and decided to watch that car crash of a game

My biggest problem now is how many England players I don’t like - Walker, Ramsdale, Gordon, Palmer, Trippier, Kane and Rice

I have only ever see Saka play well against the Albion btw :lolol:

I’m sure I’ll get over it as we blow the group stages away

Are the Nazis still in power in Germany? I thought the war ended in 1945. I also thought commemorating D Day was about saluting our brave heroes yet also hoping nobody from any nation has to endure that again.
Not sure calling them krauts and singing about German bombers is going to help. It also looks really embarrassing because of how little the Germans care about us. They hate the Dutch much more.
It's great fun to beat Germany but there's no need to mention the war.

As as side note, how's that canvassing for Reform going?

At least Southgate has some emotional intelligence, interviewer the crowd showed their displeasure at the final whistle, Waistcoat says yes I agree with them it was frustrating.

Potter: I don’t agree with them. What do they expect England haven’t won anything since 1966 perhaps I or they need a history lesson 🤣

Betting on a warm up game is the very definition of a mugs’ game.

Unless you took advantage of that price, in which case I’ll have a Guinness :drink:
REALLY? ???

£170 says it isn't.
