I think we may have to agree to disagree on this. If you don't mind being filmed for every waking moment- fine. I just find it unnecessary.

Perhaps we can agree on this: 2-1 Saturday, Barnes and Murray to score.

I just hope for your sake you never get attacked because if you do perhaps then you might see the shortcomings of your paranoia. No doubt you'll exaggerate that the same way as you have here, CCTV does not film your every waking moment does it now ?

I am getting a 3-0 feeling sir,..... they are so obsessed with tightening up their defence after recent goal against issues, we will keep a clean sheet, and pop one in on the counter attack, then they will open up to try and get back on terms,.... bang Lua Lua on and 2 late goals..... fingers crossed.

I sawa prog, one of those police camera action jobs, where the cameras spotted a lone girl of about 18 walking home at about 2 in the morning on her own. They followed her for her own safety and coincidentaly witnessed a man following her who grabbed her and dragged her into undergrowth, they managed to direct police units there before he was able to harm her seriously. Now, you can argue, correctly that the girl should have been more careful and that the parents should have instilled in her it's dangerous but when you have had a drink etc judgement goes out the window. I for one would have been very grateful for cctv if that were a member of my family ior a friend or girlfriend.

While it's true that here are pros and cons to cctv this type of incident justifies the cons in my opinion

That sums up what I have been trying to get across. A few years ago I worked with a guy who refused to register his Oyster card, his choice but I find it handy to by tickets online but he refused. Why ? He didn't want London Transport to trace his movements ! What the hell difference would that have made ? This is why I cannot understand why people get so wrapped up in their trivial little lives to think that anybody really cares.

I agree that it has limited use in tracing terrorists, though that is not to say it is totally useless in this capacity but I don't care if a civil servant finds my comings and goings so damn interesting that they feel the need to "spy" on me if it helps victims or potential victims of crime then pop a camera up, it's not like they are pointing it into my bathroom!

1. Obviously, my opinions are subjective. Perhaps my assessment of the report was selective but who else has offered any factual support for their argument?
2. Population Density Map of Europe YourEuropeMap.com
3. Why not put a camera in your bathroom in case a crack smoking, muslim, hoodie tries to steal your toothbrush?
4. Really? Evidence? I would hope for a diverse range of views but to suggest a bias towards Liberty is highly suspect. The current incumbents don't appear to be too anti-establiment. Constitution Committee - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hey Baker man,.... you left it at quite a mature point,.... why suddenly resurface in a froth of angst....... ? I am moving on dude.

Sorry! I blame that on my poor internet connection. I didn't think my earlier (mature) post had registered. Then after fighting to get a wifi connection again my frustration with my computer led to my more abrasive response. I then edited that response but you'd already spotted it. Apologies.

That's really the point isn't it ? I don't for one instance think that CCTV would deter many criminals let alone a terrorist but is may well assist in curtailing their activities as well as the detection of criminals of all kinds. As you say, I cannot for the life of me see how anybody would be interested in me and for that matter anybody else unless they were known to be involved with some untoward act.

Yes, agree. It also helps areas stay healthy looking, there is less graffiti and vandalism in areas with cctv and a more pleasent environment is thought to reduce crime and anti social behaviour in all but the most deprived/uncaring environments.

My personal opinion is that in many cases those opposed to cctv is usually a case of the kept wanting to be the keeper, but I am open to the suggestion this is a cynical and incorrect standpoint.

As i said before. Bin Laden has repeatedly...repeatedly, stated that the attack on 9/11 was because of American troops on Islamic holy land soil. The only person who said it was against American values was the idiot who was president at the time.
Britain is now mentioned of course, as they have joined the Americans in the ridiculous war in Iraq, and Americas war in Afghanistan.
The tone of your post seems to indicate support for the 9/11 attacks ?

I do not sign up for any loyalty cards. The reason being I found it a bit creepy that my supermarket was identifying what I was buying, and sending me vouchers to try and make me change to other brands.

I'm not wrapped up in my own trivial little life as you put it, but the supermarket wants to be.

wow. someone wants to remind people of the true roots of a conflict, rather than the repainted, retouched and respun story since, and that somehow makes them a supporter?
