What happens if once restarted 2/3 first team players test positive. Surely unfair to carry on with weaker teams

This.

Waiting years until there’s absolute zero risk from covid, would be ridiculous.

Life’s moving on, lockdown is already ending in stages, PL athletes are being thoroughly tested and those who want to stay 100% safe at home such as Deeney are at liberty to do so, whilst on full pay.

Deeney is back training i believe

What happens if a player breaks his leg in training?

In Germany -

But what happens next if a player tests positive? In Germany's Bundesliga 2, two of Dynamo Dresden's squad tested positive and the whole team was ordered into quarantine, meaning their comeback match against Hannover was called off.

What happens if a giant asteroid is found to be heading to earth and the only way to save the planet is to detonate nuclear bombs in it's core?

The people who were around in the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic, which was more deadly than the current one didn't have a lockdown and just got on with it.
This seems a fair enough first step in trying to get back to normality in the modern era as far as sport is concerned.

Perhaps thats why it was more deadly than the current one!

Players testing positive a day or so after a match could really test the track & trace system. They’d have rewatch the match and see which players got within 2 metres :lolol:

Will I be allowed to have bottle tops on my drinks, and my tea in a flask, or will my Mrs throw me out?

Proposed kick-off times and schedule from The Guardian:

The league has also published proposed kick-off times for weekend and midweek matches, with slots on every day of the week. There are 10 “weekend” slots, suggesting that all games will take place at different times.

The time slots are: Friday 8pm; Saturday 12.30pm, 3pm, 5.30pm and 8pm; Sunday 12pm, 2pm, 4.30pm and 7pm; Monday 8pm. Midweek games will take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 6pm and 8pm.

And there goes 3pm on a Saturday for the premier league. They will never go back from this even once fans are allowed to return.

This is here for good now.

I'm not unexcited, just worried.
I have a nagging feeling that we won't get anything from games against Man City, Liverpool, Leicester, Arsenal and Man United.
And we won't get enough points from the fixtures against Newcastle, Norwich, Southampton and Burnley.

I hated the Brexit result.
I've hated how Cummings has escaped any kind of punishment.
And I hate how football is being allowed to return in the middle of a pandemic with hundreds of people still dying each day.

Basically I'm having a bad run and Brighton staying up would certainly lift my spirits.
I'm pinning all my hopes on Alexis MacAllister being a superstar, and also Neal Maupay and our midfielders converting a higher percentage of scoring chances.

Until we get some points I'm going to keep telling myself I'm not really bothered.

Spot on, I don't see how anyone can't understand this

More deadly?

Luxury.

The people who caught bubonic plague would have dreamed about catching Spanish flu.

I'm more interested in the timescales for letting some supporters into the matches than empty stadium games. I know there have been lots of games where I didn't go and just listened on the radio, but I'm really not enthused by this prospect at all.

Maybe that will change when the matches actually start? But I know that some supporters in the ground, somewhere, will make a lot of difference.
