Cricket is not coming back until 1st August but Football is aiming for mid June. How can there be such a difference in risk assessment?

I would have thought cricket was easier

I hope they are putting together a domestic blast in a World Cup type format

Sky must have had an idea. My bill showed a return to full subscription on June 18th when I looked at it yesterday.

Getting this message on mine :

Your sport is paused
Some customers are seeing a Sky Sports/BT Sport subscription cost on future bills, please rest assured that you will not be charged until the action returns. We will be in touch as soon as we get any news.

Football, resumes June 18th
Cricket, absent until August.
Horse, Racing reduced to one meeting per day.
Tennis, no sign of resuming?
Golf, maybe?
Formula One, maybe?
Boxing?
Tiddlewinks, Juvember 2032

All played out behind closed doors.

Still it's better than nothing?

Sky surely won't have the neck to charge full subscription for a watered down product?

The only way we can get relegated is by playing!

I'm nervous already.

My only Albion thoughts, over the last few weeks, has been of the points thrown away this season and there's been a lot. (5 up the road, for starters)

It would have been so nice to have entered lockdown with a 'whatever, roll on never season whenever that comes' attitude.

Absolute joke. Football should only return when it safe for players and supporters. All
About money, shame on the Government, EPL, Sky and FA. I am sure the Liverpool and Man Utd fans who watch football from
Their front rooms will happy though. Football on TV with no fans is total crap and rather have no sport until it's right.

Nothing is 100 percent safe and we have to start getting back to normal.

No one thinks it’s ideal but it’s a start towards it.

Testing has shown up about 8 cases in the bubble, it’s the safest place to be at the moment with all the testing.

I was team void for a long time

Not really. Abba summed it up in 1976 with their song 'Money, money, money' - Cricket has bugger all in comparison so that's why it's deemed less important sadly.

Personally think it’s the ECB, they have been late to the party.

Are the counties better off not playing? I’m not sure how the contracts work for players

The people who were around in the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic, which was more deadly than the current one didn't have a lockdown and just got on with it.
This seems a fair enough first step in trying to get back to normality in the modern era as far as sport is concerned.

Actually, many venues and people did 'lockdown', quite the opposite from your post ...

This.

Waiting years until there’s absolute zero risk from covid, would be ridiculous.

Life’s moving on, lockdown is already ending in stages, PL athletes are being thoroughly tested and those who want to stay 100% safe at home such as Deeney are at liberty to do so, whilst on full pay.
