5/10 keeper? Absolute rubbish.

I’m convinced Buttler could not drop a catch for a year, stump 47 batsman and score 12 consecutive centuries + rescue a bag of puppies from a river and people would still want Foakes in the side ahead of him.

Why do you think people are so biased against him? I don't think he should keep for England in tests asi don't think he's good enough I base that on his keeping. He's a great one day player and seems a nice bloke, why would so many say he's a bad keeper is they didn't mean it?

I’m certainly not biased against JB but imo wicketkeeper is a specialist position and Foakes is the best. He is also a good batsman. In the sub-continent I would definitely choose BF personally. However I am perfectly happy in that situation to play JB as a specialist batsman.
We’re fortunate at present to have JB and Jonny Bairstow who are both good options if you opt for the non-specialist keeper but Bairstow’s boat seems to have sailed for the Test team as a keeper and he is a brilliant outfielder.

Surely time to absolutely put Pakistan to the sword? Lose the rest of your wickets for a madcap 120-150 and get them in after Tea.

I think I'd just keep batting. 1-0 up in the series. No hurry. Try and get 600+. The wicket is still offering stuff when the ball is shiny, which is helpful.

I agree that England should milk these benign conditions. We're playing shots now so one of these two will probably get out shortly. I'd be looking for 550.

I've been very impressed with Crawley and his range of shots. This huge innings will take pressure off him and also Root, as we have a new batsman that can play a big, series-winning innings.

This could go two ways from here on. Either Pakistan will fold due to scoreboard pressure or they will bat for two days and match us.

Superb stuff. It's not even as if the bowling has been bad or the pitch is a road. Really impressive.

This is now England's best ever partnership against Pakistan for any wicket.

Just need Root to get back to getting some decent scores, and this has the potential for a decent battling line-up.

Sibley.
Burns.
Crawley.
Root.
Pope.
Stokes.
Butler.

Shame the bowling still seems it’s going to be going through transition. Need Archer to become consistent and Wood to stay fit.
(I’m thinking post Anderson/Broad).

Amazing Innings, no one bothered by Buttler being in his 130's!

Pakistan seem completely crushed, no reason that Crawley won't get 300...

Highest Test maiden century score for an Englishman appears to be 287. Just looked it up.

Crawley is starting to look a little tired but I'd love him to reach 300.
