Vaughan comes half-forward to a probing ball from Nel and feathers one to Boucher behind the stumps.

That's the crucial bit.

Haven't seen it but you are right Hans. Getting fed up with the commentators saying he has got an unplayable ball. He makes it look that way cos his foot movement is shocking.

f*** me, at this rate we may as well put Monty in next as a lunch watchman

Neither, I mean BELL. :lolol:

Hehe sorry just realised that; when I posted cricinfo hadn't said who the next batsman was, so I happily conclusion-jumped.

Do you really think Bell is captaincy material? Seems a little bit too quiet for me. Out of the batsmen (who I much prefer as captains to bowlers) only Cook, Bell and Pietersen are guaranteed starters, so it's got to be one of those three.

I suspect that one of the reasons Collingwood has been recalled is a nagging doubt the selectors have with Vaughan's form.

Collingwood could easily take over the captaincy if required, but if he's not in the side there is no other decent option. Strauss had a complete loss of form and is risky, Freddy had a nightmare against the Aussies and already has enough to cope with, Pietersen is our best bat and could do without the pressure. Bell is too quiet and Cook still too young.

On that last point, I believe that Cook could be the next England captain, maybe after the next Ashes series.
