Didn't think Walcott did that bad tbh, backtracked well, just his final ball (besides one) was poor, again.

Think he was better 2nd half, and his pace and vision will always get him into good positions, but he was just SO hesitant a lot of the time, whereas you could never accuse Lennon of the same.

Therefore Lennon starts for me, but with Walcott an excellent option to come on against tired legs.

Have to hold my hands up and admit - I have been overly critical of Crouch the past few months, and I have been proved WRONG. Works hard and has a better touch than I give him credit for, and is obviously more of a goal threat than Emile.

I wouldn't be overly disappointed if he started ahead of Heskey against USA.

Yeah his pace is always going to be a threat. However if he didn't get that hat trick against Croatia, would he be in the squad?

Anyone else remember Johnny Crumplin scoring an identical goal to that of Glen Johnson at the Goldstone on Boxing day 1993/4?.. Was against Burnley I believe, so not international level, but CLASS nonetheless...

A bit bleary eyed this morning after getting back to Lyme at about 4am but a teriffic night, great entertainment, those who predicted it would be a dull pre-WC game were absolutely wrong. Atmosphere was amazing, a big thumbs up to the FA for the fantastic gesture of free t-shirts which looked fantastic.

Mexico played their full part in an enthralling game but England showed their class in the scond half and ran out worthy winners to the delight of the huge Wembley audience.

Agree with the post above, excellent atmosphere, although a bit hot!! But ultimately with a weakened defence we still showed we are a top 8 side. Will need to tighten at the back, but frankly we never looked that uncomfortable and felt we were always going to win, especially given our set pieces always looked threatening. Nothing to worry about despite what the pundits say. Oh and Rooney came through uninjured which is a bonus in itself.

England's inability to retain the ball is the main problem. That's why we won't go beyond the quarter finals (well, maybe the semis if we have a bit of luck). This is a team problem, stemming from the back and into midfield.

On the positive side, we do look like scoring when we attack, and our different attacking options are actually quite enviable.

Spot on sir.

I dunno how he is even in the squad, Robbo is a much better keeper.

Walcott was gash
All of our keepers are accidents waiting to happen. Green, Carson, Foster, Robinson ,Hart and James are all clanger-prone.

Hart and James less so than the others, so we've got to hope keeper #3 is never needed.

Whenever I see the players play in the Premier League, they always look technically gifted, yet when they play for England against a team ranked in the top 20, they look like a bunch of Sunday league hoofers. Same thing happened again yesterday. Team spirit will only get us so far!

Wrong. Arsenal hating glasses off...He was good actually. King had a good game also.

Anywayy...Was my first trip to wembley to see England (been to a concert) and we were sat right up the top! Also we had a Mexican guy wearing a Brighton shirt sitting behind us. One of the strangest things I may have ever seen..
