Baines has had a shocker think he can look through the holiday brochures tonight for something else to do this summer

Walcott is so frustrating. Clearly got talent but has not really done anything since Croatia for club or country and his final ball pisses me off all the time. Someone on the radio said today that he needs to be dropped and that might give him the kick up the backside he needs and I would probably agree with that, Lennon offers more at the moment anyway

Would make a useful impact sub to come towards the end, but I really hope England don't start him for any big games

Rooney just ghosts past defenders so easily these days, could be an amazing World Cup for him.

Think Rooney has been quiet tonight. Reckon he was told to take it easy?

England have given the ball away far too easily tonight. Can't afford to do that in the heat of South Africa. (I hope Fabio reads this)

why was Gerrard on the left from the start ? even when Lampard is not playing he still plays on the left.
Whats the point in giving lennon 14 minutes and Adam Johnson 6 minutes at least need 30 minutes to show what you can do.

A lot of players have has shockers tonight, Carrick, Baines the main two.

But the fa need to sort this pitch out its a f***ing disgrace when you see the slow motion replays the pitch is cutting up like mad.

F***s me off the blatant shuffling forward of the wall, with the referee doing sod all about it. Desperately want some cheating tw@t to get the ball hard ifull n the kisser and lose a couple of teeth!

It is Winter in South Africa. It is much hotter here than there.

Strange game, i thought Mexico were the better team yet we won 3.1. I'm still really confused why the cup final players didn't play. It was nine days ago, im sure they could have managed at least 45 minutes. With Lampard and the two Coles playing I think we would have been a lot more balanced and played better

Fairly typical England performance, better 2nd half than 1st.
Rooney showing world class touches. Rooney and Defoe not working yet again. Always concede one COMPLETELY PREVENTABLE goal.

Milner had a very solid game in holding midfield as I had suggested he would, head and shoulders ahead of Carrick and far more Hargreaves-like than any other option we have.

Absolutely, and I know he only got 30 odd minutes but Huddlestone was poor. Thought Ledley was quality at the back. Also did Carra even touch the ball? Ditto with Carrick. Hart wasn't really tested at all. Didn't think Walcott did that bad tbh, backtracked well, just his final ball (besides one) was poor, again.
