You get one choice who you'd like to avoid before the fixtures are drawn up.

would that work between football league and conference though, as they would be done by two different brands?

Could potentially make inroads into the Albions support. Lewes gates seem to have levelled off around the 800 mark in the Conference South, but if they go into the Conference proper that could go up. Not sure the Albion have ever had a Conference side that close to them in location.
Lewes average is only about 600 and Eastbourne Borough about 800 but its a worry for Albion if
3000 at Eastbourne Borough at £9.50
Only 5900 at Withdean costing over £20 including Bournmouth support

For the sake of this argument, Eastbourne v Lewes, especially as these are two teams at the top of their division, is a bit of a one-off fixture - apart from the fact they played each other twice in the space of a week, of course.

If a fixture clash was to be highlighted, and something can be done to accommodate those who want to go to both this fixture AND a Brighton game, it ought to be for this fixture ONLY - not necessarily for every Lewes or Eastbourne game. The attendance for Lewes v Havant & Waterlooville, for instance, was pretty much average for this season, and H&W is only 50 miles away.

Way out west
The only thing that worries me about that crowd is that it probably contained a fair few people who just turn up and pay on the gate for a couple of games over Christmas and New Year, in days gone by they may have gone to watch the Albion, now a non-league fixture is seen as more appetising.

1 while waiting for your taxi

Or while your waiting for the ambulance after one of your so called fan could not handle defeat gracefully and had to use his fists. Reports are that it's the same one who had a shandy to many on Boxing Day and wanted to take on the whole of Lewes. :tosser:

Care in the community knobjockey, not a fan.
Should give him the same treatment as Joey Barton

What went off?

Anyone who went to the Lewes home game may have noticed at the end of the game a knob giving it the large taking his jacket off and pointing at someone to come and fight him. Thankfully nobody did. At the return game at Eastbourne about 17:10 my friend was waiting outside the club house when this same twat came over and hit him for no reason other than the fact he was wearing a Lewes shirt. Then had to spend next few hours in A and E and now carries a nice black eye which could have been worse as he wears glasses.
I now believe the culprit has been caught and banned from Eastbourne Borough for life and suppose down to my friend if he wants to press charges with the police.
