These two, Chanderpaul and Benkenstein, are the big wickets. Hopefully Mo has got his tail up now.

At the foot of the downs
Ive been quite impressed with Sami, what chance of keeping onto him ???

Surrey officially relegated today!

How the mighty have fallen. The four leading counties in terms of county championship wins are, in order, Yorkshire, Surrey, Middlesex and Lancashire. Middlesex went down two years ago, and have stayed down, Surrey are definitely going down, and either Yorkshire or Lancashire will join them. In football terms, that's the equivalent of Arsenal playing in the lower tier with ManUtd and either Liverpool or Everton to join them next season! Great stuff. Combine that with the fact out of the 4 counties never to have won it, one is currently top of the table and another is currently favourite to win it (with their game in hand), it's refreshing to see a sporting competition which actually feels quite open.

the commentators were really slating him on TV the other night saying how awful his test record is and how slower bowler is now is. Hopefully he can prove them wrong in his ability

I see the Gilligan Stand is to be no more (probably).

One of my first jobs was Ashdown Court (behind the stand) and the stand itself. Think it was summer of '72?

Have fond memories of popping into the pub for beers during the hot summer and following Sussex to Lords for a cricket final. *The Gillette Cup I think. Trying to get into the Playboy Club near there after the game.

*Anybody know for sure?
