Hey, the CON-DEM-NATION is here and congratulations to the Cameron/Clegg Clegg/Cameron thingy.

Labour will be reborn under Miliband and these unelected prime minister sham thingys will help restore power to Labour before the five years they so ambitiously target.

Do you think there is any chance that he will get rid of the cronies like Medelsome at the sma time?

Yes, I do. Mandelson and others are probaby seen by the general public and, you, porkypies, as a little stale and part of the Blair years. Sadly, Brown fitted into this bracket.

The people have spoken, and a nice, slimy, sorry I mean, shiny new prime minister (s) has sort of been elected!

Or put another way, we now have a PM who has been properly educated and groomed for the role of leading our once great nation.

I'm quite sure Labour will return, to lay waste to 10 years or so of decent rule. It's what they do best: strikes, superfluous reforms, layer after layer of pointless bureaucracy - while the country and it's people plunge further and further into utter ruin. I look forward to the peoples next Labour folly. Great days, great days indeed.

I know this is a shallow, Brighton-related, forum, but tell me a little about yourself? You seem to be an individual with set, albeit baffling, opinions.

Would you describe yourself as working class for example? What is your job?

Time will tell. I cannot say that I honestly know how things will turn out. However, from what I have seen of the guy, he has a genuine passion to lead this country for the benefit of everyone. His desire to form a strong government in conjunction with the Lib-dems and what he had been prepared to conceed to them, i believe, is evidence of that fact.

Unfortunatly, there are many people who have grown up being educated by cordory and denim wearing left-wing teacher types who have been brainwashed into thinking that there is still a strong class structure in this country, despite Maggie's massive success in breaking the remnants of it down years ago.

Mate, I would not describe myself as coming from any "class". Why would anyone do so in this day and age?

Porkpie, are you saying there is no such thing as class? The more I read what you write, the more convinced you are a wind-up merchant. To actually believe what you have just written, cannot be possible.

I absolutely believe it. People who still believe in being part of a "class" and consider that they must conform to the aspirations of that class are beyond me. The crap posted on here by people like you now gives me a better understanding of why Maggie's fantastic work in giving EVERYONE the chance to better themselves is not understood.

No, you are right there is no class structure in this country anymore.

It may not take the form we previously understood, but there is a significant underclass. There is a significant upper class. It is just that there are a whole bunch of people in the middle who are very hard to define. Whether it be by income or profession. These people in the middle have very little chance of moving up to the top level and every chance of moving down. Most teachers will hopefully teach this, the facts, and allow the children to make their own decisions on political peruasion.

Good first paragraph mate but think in reality he has conceded very little and has taken the Lib Dems for FOOLS. I think it is only a matter of time before Cameron as PM does something Clegg as DPM cannot agree to (and remember the DPM is there to back the PM to the hilt) and Clegg walks. The much maligned John Prescott was a superb DPM backing Blair even if sometimes it went against the grain, the unity kept the cabinet bound at times. Cameron will never have that backing from Clegg.

As for growing up in the Tory era and being a product of the state school system I think you point on brainwashing is just plain wrong, we are all born with a brain, its up to up to use it and I for one have the abilty to rationalise my early recollections and teachings and form my own opinions.

You must be popular. Surely you have one redeeming feature?

In response to your views on social mobility, Labour's thirteen years gave opportunities to segments of society that were previously overlooked by Thatcher and Major.

I wonder if you come from a household of Tory voters, thus giving you a rather blinkered view on how society really is?

In addition to what Thatcher said about people 'bettering themselves'.

Look back on the schools that the last twelve prime ministers went to. Apart from Brown, did any of them attend non-independent schools?

Look at the current prime minster, Mayor of London and chancellor and tell me what they have in common.

To an extent this is true. At the same time though the gap between rich and poor has increased during Labour's four parliaments. This I am afraid is the true shame of the New Labour project. I say this as a Labour supporter in general, although I voted Green at this election.
