Trump will be made furious by booooos because he is a man baby. He will react.

The MAGA crowd are celebrating the Canadian dollar and Mexican peso weakening against the dollar. This making US goods even less competitive and softening the impact of tariffs into the states so the trade deficit is likely to grow further. Right?

Now making comments on whether or not he’ll place tariffs on the UK.

Thank goodness Sir Keir is joining an EU meeting today. Hopefully they can come up with some joint thinking about how we can resist this orange idiot.

The fact that he's joining the EU meeting is very bad timing on the tariff front. We can't catch a break !!

No. It’s the opposite.

Trump has pitched USA against the rest of the world. We should be keeping our distance from the USA under his presidency. What’s next? Free Tommy Robinson or they impose tariffs? The man is demented.

Agree on keeping our distance generally but for trade we should be looking to make a deal.

Well yer preferably both or certainly one or the other. But we will probably end up with no deals with both and tariffs from the US !!
Trump has said Sir Keir is ‘very nice’ so we’re not getting tariffs just yet.

Keir is the first PM to attend an EU council meeting since Brexit. Seems like we’re making progress there too.

Thankfully there is some strong talk from the EU, I hope we follow through. The French guy made a good point and suggested we should take the fight to the US and not have some feeble 'buy European' campaign.

Trump appeared to take a softer line on the UK, citing a good relationship with prime minister Keir Starmer while saying tariffs still “might happen”. “The UK is out of line but I’m sure that one, I think that one can be worked out,” he said.

Reads very much to me like Trump views Starmer as someone he can cow into submission.

I agree. If China, Mexico, Canada, the EU and the UK all impose targeted tariffs it will have significant impact on the US.

Yep. Quite possibly he does because we are now a far weaker country post brexit. The whole world knows this.
