A succint, erudite and valid point. Care to elaborate?

I fail how you think 6 months is a just sentence for abusing an animal, i mean the bollocks that there just animals is pathetic, there no different from us really, they feel pain, have feelings also are intelligent, so abusing any animal is low, and 6months is a complete joke imo.

Also if the man done this on purpose i would question his sanity, and seriously think about sectioning him, as its beyond sick

Whilst I would never condone abusing an animal and to me it does suggest some kind of mental issue with the person doing the abusing, animals are different from us I am afraid, and a human's life is infinitely more valuable than that of an animal in my opinion.

The gov't have a limited amount of money to allocate to different sectors. The prison budget is already majorly stretched. Adding animal abusers to that list, and in turn sending them to prison using precious taxpayers money, is a headache the gov't could do without. Wrong i know, but reality.

How do you know it was his dog? Could have been in car park with a lover when someone else tied their dog to his car. He might not have known it was there but when found the mess he panicked and dumped it. Otherwise if he had told police his wife might find out what he was up to.

Really? The government have said specifically not to jail animal abusers? The government may allocate budget but the courts send people to prison, it's always been that way. It's a fundamental pillar of our democracy that the judiciary is independent from the executive. You seem to have quite a lot of muddled views.

been there done that, good fun really, found the guy not guilty.

But genuinely give me one valid reason for doing what he did.

Jury service is not fun, it is your civic duty to sit and listen as EVIDENCE is put to the court and make a decision at the end based on the EVIDENCE and not using any emotions.

IF he did this on purpose I'll be front of the queue wanting to give him a hiding, until such a time that even one piece of EVIDENCE is put forward showing he did this on purpose then he is as innocent as you.

  • Someone else tied it.
  • He tied it and forgot.
  • The dog got tangled in something on the car and he wasn't aware
  • He was spooked by something, feared for his own safety and had to drive off immediately
  • He thought he had untied it, meant to release the dog but hadn't untied it properly

This with bells on.

Parliament writes the law in the first place.
