On a darker side, ISIS are now said to be targeting a Scot in bid to force ‘Yes’ vote in Scotland independence, in a bid break up the UK.
From Scottish newspaper, the Sunday Post:
A leading intelligence expert fears Islamic extremists are deliberately threatening to behead a Scots aid worker to break up the UK
Professor Anthony Glees, at the Centre for Security and Intelligence Studies at the University of Buckingham, says:
“ISIS are believed to be holding around 30 hostages. Some are Scandinavian but there are other Brits among the group. So you need to ask why David Haines has been picked after two Americans.
ISIS are masters of propaganda and realise the impact of selecting a Scot. They will hope by showing the UK is weak and unable to defend its citizens it will drive Scots to embrace independence.
“One of the UK’s big selling points in remaining together is the strength of the UK on the world stage – their sword and shield. If they can no longer strike hostile forces who attack their citizens, the UK is clearly in danger of being a spent force heading towards division. And a weakened UK is exactly what the ISIS wants.”
Quite easily actually, have a vote and follow what the majority of people want
Quite easily actually, have a vote and follow what the majority of people want
or alternatively select only a certain group of people and allow them to vote on breaking up a nation state, ignoring the vast majority.
Wait, the Scots are breaking up your country?
No wonder they want to have independence when Brits keep claiming Scotland is their Country.
who are the Brits?
Yes indeed, why would they not?
Most expensive rail fares in Europe by far, no affordable houses to buy, NHS being sold to the highest bidder, students in debt for their entire lives, Governments spending a large amount of our taxes on wars. What have we got that they would want to keep? The pound? Well, whoopy ****ing do. They may just think there happens to be an alternative to pursuing policies which are about as useful as quilted toilet paper.
Do they think they will be excluded from these challenges. Scotland is living beyond its means even worse than the rest of us, all those deep fried pizza's will put even more pressure on their health system
Whatever the outcome, the "Better Together" campaign has been a shambles. Nationalistic feeling in Scotland has been underestimated and the benefits of union have been totally undersold.
Those benefits are chiefly felt via "economies of scale". Surely it should not have been beyond the wit of campaigners to demonstrate what doors are open to the UK that would not be open to an independent Scotland? The politics of fear have been confused with stating a clear case why a small country outside the EU with no currency or central bank is exposed in every conceivable way.
Now that one poll is showing the YES vote as in the lead we're entering campaign meltdown. "Better Together' has failed and the ace up the sleeve - the 'fear' card - is now being played in a manic, desperate attempt to frighten voters north of the border. Expect Cameron, the Governor of the Bank Of England and Prince Charles to make big statements now, the terrorist threat will get talked up, and if things get REALLY bad then they may have to wheel in David Beckham as a last resort.
could the Queen, theoretically, put the kybosh on this?
