I had a great great uncle imprisoned for bigamy in the late nineteenth century. Made the papers at the time. He had a wife in Cheshire and a couple of them in Newcastle. Apparently he was glad to be imprisoned to get away from them all.

Here and There
My Grandad used to work for the Post Office and more notably on the mail train that Buster Edwards done over. It wasn't on his shift but the information he gave to the police lead to the arrests of the 'crew'. He was also awarded the BEM (British Empire Medal) for long service with the Royal Mail.

In the WWII, he was an aerial photographer for the RAF, taking photos of proposed bombing sites over Germany.

He was good in Trainspotting.

Yes, and he looked pretty good in Hamish MacBeth for a 19th Century Historian and Social Commentator.

My sister has been doing our family tree (very complicated) and has found out that my great grandfather had a ferret farm in Kent and was the supplier to the British Army of ferrets for the trenches in the first world war to keep the rats at bay.

My father has been doing our family tree and has found out that my grandfather had a cat farm in Sussex and was the supplier to the British Army of Cats for the trenches, in the first world war, to keep the ferrets at bay. :D

Ps That is very interesting, Gazwag.
