Mind - has anyone here been to Belgrade? I went to see Kraftwerk in February a few years back with a mate (tickets were 30 quid). Amazingly
friendly and nice people, beer was as cheap as chips (2.50 for a pint), great army museum and guided tour, the food was some of the best I've ever had. The only down side was that they allow smoking in every bar and restaurants and all the youngsters seem to smoke. But amazing place and people all the same. Not that this is relevant to the thread. Just saying.

I found their triumphal announcement that ND has respected Australia somewhat mystifying, as I did the need to have numerous trophies on display at the table they were sitting behind. Not impressed and hope he gets nowhere near the final of the tournament if he is somehow allowed to participate.

Sincerely hope that every other player refuses to take to the court against him on the basis he's a f**king risk to their health. Watch the whole tournament implode and for him to take the full backlash as a result.

It’s annoying. He gets into Australia without being vaccinated on a technicality and seemingly doesn’t isolate for 14 days having tested positive in Serbia. A really disheartening example of cakeism.

Did he actually test positive or did he just set the test up? Either way, I hope he loses in the early rounds and that the Aussie supporters leave him in no doubt what the vast majority of their country think of him.

He’s the one who was given an exemption by a collusion of Australia Tennis and the state authority because they were desperate for him to play.
The federal government did not intervene until there was blow back from the general public who were outraged on how the rich and famous had different rules applied to them on entry to Australia which was an issue before Novax

Given he did not bother isolating when positive would hardly surprise me if he has flouted these as well (which the photos seem to suggest he has).

The funny thing is he didn’t need the exemption to enter the country, as I understand it even unjabbed he could have come in and done 14 days isolation in a luxury villa with practice court (at his own expense).

So this whole farce has been generated by his desire to avoid isolating for 14 days on arrival. Crazy.

Sorry, none of that makes sense. What go ahead was he given by the Federal Government ? That bit is crucial as their decision is the one that counts. What are politicians exempt from ? the general consensus at this end is that the fed govt have allowed him entry in error ......the border force team under an interim minister ( our millionaire , day care owning , minister for security and home affairs is on leave) have stopped him upon entry , confiscating his phone which has then prevented him from providing any evidence in supporting his case ......all in all a complete balls up . entry into australia is granted at federal level , at this point barnaby joyce , the deputy premier has held his hands up and said it was his mistake , djokovic would have been unable to board a flight to australia without a visa ......no matter what anyone says, you just cant do it . As of the 5th feb , in WA anyway , if you are not x2 vaxed you will be denied entry to any venue with a capacity greater than 500 patrons officially but smaller venues are being urged to adopt this stance .....large fines for punters and venues who do not comply.

The answer is that they have self declared compliance with visa requirements but could not back it up upon arrival. Just like the tennis player. What is your point about the venue requirements?
