He was referring to Djokovic's claim to testing positive on 16th December and then appearing with a crowd of youngsters on 17th December to present trophies.

Aaaaand breaking news from the Djokovic family press conference just in: having been asked questions about what Novax was doing the day after his positive test result, they immediately stopped the press conference.

Tells us all we need to know, I think - they're happy to get stuck in to a feast of "we beat the system" but not happy to handle the awkward questions that have been raised as a result of them trying to beat the system.

I found their triumphal announcement that ND has respected Australia somewhat mystifying, as I did the need to have numerous trophies on display at the table they were sitting behind. Not impressed and hope he gets nowhere near the final of the tournament if he is somehow allowed to participate.

(On another note, as an Aussie who is old enough to remember Australia having a PM named Hawke (for Labor), it is rather jarring to now be talking about a Hawke who is a minister in a Liberal/National government).

It seems very convenient that as soon as they said he could get an exemption if he caught covid, he then obtained a positive test result at the perfect time- so he had 2 weeks to then be cleared to fly to Australia. I mean- was he all set up to not attend the tournament, and then miraculously got this positive test result and then by sheer luck he could attend with the exemption? Sounds far fetched.

And then after the positive result was still out and about attending events etc, instead of isolating? Almost like he didn’t have covid at all?

All sounds very fishy to me- did he have covid at all or did he just get a doctor to say he had a positive test result?

Looks like he could still get ejected, see what happens tomorrow.
