I think there is a myth developing about Blue Sky. To me it is another version of Twitter but without the right wing political elements. I went on there and then wondered why I was bothering. It's just as toxic and full of rants and raves. Okay, it may not be as toxic, but I doubt it will be too long.

The question I asked is whether it adds anything wholesome to my life. It doesn't. So i deleted it.
I set up an account to see if it’s any better. It feels like pre-2015 Twitter and I’m also not liking it much so far.

It feels like an echo chamber. As much as I agree with much of the sentiment, I just couldn't feel any point in it for me personally. But I do like the principle behind it's formation.

I try to use open source and not for profit services. So Mozilla Firefox, Thunderbird, BlueSky, odf word and spreadsheet software, haven't quite managed a migrate to Linux yet but considering Mint, Gimp or Canva for design. Signal and Telegram seem fine but a bit embedded with WhatsApp currently. Slowly slowly ...

At the moment I am struggling with finding an email provider that fits the bill. It seems less than certain that Proton are Trump free and I am not sure if they are future proof and Tuta won't let me have more than one email address.

It may come down to Yahoo or Outlook at this rate.

Proton are Swiss, so seems unlikely that they’re benefiting the US.

Tim Berners-Lee is involved with them, so seem fairly safe to me.

Have a look at Fastmail for your email, calendar etc. It’s not free, I think I pay £30 a year or similar, but it is very much security based with no data sharing.

Shows how much US companies are ingrained in our every day lives

I'm getting rid of the small amount of shares in US equities
I've done the same - 70%done (any fund with a visible amount (,>1%) of Tesla and Space X went two weeks ago. This week I've got rid of funds with the big tech companies front and centre.
Others are taking more time and research,e.g. Global index funds. Mostly the proceeds will be moved to European and British funds.
It sounds grand but it's a few thousand - I'm happier though.

I have an Isa with Marcus Goldman sachs, does anyone know of a UK/European owned ISA savings?
I would assume Hargreaves Lansdowne, or Bell are British owned 🤔. (If i understood what you meant).
I use HL, excellent website - was fairly easy for me to research decent European funds there - have now moved much of the proceeds of US funds.
HL also offer decent CASH ISA rates.
