He flew to England to sign weeks ago - would be a real shame if he hasnt been training with us to understand the tactics and get his fitness right. I am in hope that he plays v Arsenal

Given the MLS season just ended probably got a couple of weeks off you’d think

Miami’s last MLS game was on the 10th of November. They lost early in the play offs to Atlanta.

He also started for Paraguay in both the November internationals a week or so after Inter Miami were knocked out of the MLS play offs. He had just under a month between that last game and him coming to Brighton to sign his contract and be presented to the fans etc in mid December.

Absolutely not ready to go into the matchday squad according to TS :lolol:
Not for Saturday but Fabian didn't seem to suggest he was far off. “He has had two or three weeks of holiday. He needs for sure a little time. I am sure he is in great shape. He trained hard during his holiday from what I heard and I am really looking forward to seeing him as soon as possible on the pitch.”

In any case, my reading of SSN's reporting was that he would not be going out on loan.

Aside some qualifiers for Paraguay he hasn't played since they went out of the playoff in early November, probably been on holiday for almost a month now. Would have been very surprising to see him in the squad for Arsenal. If we keep him around, and it sounds like we will, I think it'll be a month or so before he's likely to pop up in a matchday squad (unless he tags along to Norwich mainly for fun).

Makes sense not to launch him in against Arsenal but I could see him taking some part in the Cup game.
Miami to Norwich…. What a cultural shift

For large parts of the game, we were completely bullied by Villa. I am hoping Gomez will bring a little more physicality to our midfield, I am less worried about the timesclaes of when he starts.
Villa had a 3 man midfield two of whom are quick and skillful and the other is a big, fat bastard (McGinn). Not surprising that our 2 were overrun at times (quite often). Baleba got through a lot of work to stem the tide.

I just don't get the notion of loaning at all. Why would we? This bloke has been a regular in South America world cup qualifying. He's been playing regular football quite recently.

Sure the PL will be a step up. I'm not advocating starting him against Arsenal. But we should be looking to be getting him fit and playing soon. Aside from anything else, with our horrific record of lots of players getting mid to long injuries, we just need the numbers.

Come on. He only shone in a victory over world champions Argentina. Surely he needs a spell at Cardiff to show he can perform away at home park before we risk him in the premier league 😃
