Are you people mad?

We were absolutely shite. The good news was so were Port Vale. It really was a shocking game of football, involving two talentless, tedious teams without a hint of tactical skill. I don't remember Michel making a save, and our only clear chance was somehow missed by Robinson from about 5 yards.

Worryingly, I think that's about as well as we can play with the current wasters. Unless there are a minimum of two signings by Wednesday then I predict a relegation struggle. I'm not saying we will go down, but there's no way this squad can pull clear.

Rubbish.

this is surely far too pesimistic, we are not THAT bad

Somewhere over there...
Wasn't a bad game, wasnt the most boring game I have ever seen (BHA vs Oldham a few seasons back *yawn* )

Brighton played well, I just couldnt see Brighton scoring, played well down the wings but Robinson never seemed like scoring neither did Gatting.

I thought Gatting played well and didnt deserve to be subbed, should have brought Robinson off instead.
Fraser played well as well and too didnt deserve to be subbed, but Hart played well in replacement.

Defence were mainly solid throughout the game apart from the odd lapse.

Ref was SHITE, should of had at least one penalty and never allowed the game to flow giving freekicks for the most silliest of things and never gave Brighton freekicks for things that really should have been.

Elder was OK but give him time I feel he can be a very good player for us, he's very pacey just needs more confidence.

next saturday will see a goalkeeper who is far superior to both kuipers and henderson at the withdean

His kicking was fairly poor. Far too often it drifted to Cox, instead of the target (Gatting). :D He did look very confident when dealing with crosses though. Particularly as Vale have some tall players.

Luke Rodgers annoyed the crap out of me. I hoped that someone was going to lamp him.

I thought we played quite well considering the ref was so biased. Port Vale looked like thewy came for a point.

...an as for the constant diving...grrrrr.....

And how many Vale fans were there? 50? 60? That was a piss poor effort from a piss poor side.

We should have won that game 2-0

Still punched a couple unneccessarily though.

I thought Fraser was quality in the first half today, cutting inside a lot. Again though, he's not a winger, and so doesn't offer anything from wide right!!

All our best attacking came from Robinson and Cox down the left - encouraging to see the latter seemingly on song again.

Don't be a fool, Sam. Michel may not have been forced into a save today, but he was so much more confident than Henderson. He came for crosses, dealt with set pieces, and his kicking was fine. Considering what he was asked to do, he had a perfect game:clap:

I heard he had one cross to come for and totally f***ed it up which is no suprise.

Thought the ref was shit really. Never seen so many free kicks given for so called fouls but I dont recall a single booking in the game!

I was just talking about that with my old man. You think someone would have got a yellow, for persistant offences, but nothing...

I have never seen so many drop ball situations! It really bugs me when you see the linesman waiting to see what the ref has given before flagging.

Let's be honest, with the exception of goalkeepers, I don't think we have a single player earning their money at the moment. The defence is, at times, a shambles; the midfield is boring, lacking creativity, slow, and usually outplayed; Gatting just doesn't look interested, and Robinson couldn't finish a jigsaw despite undoubted talent.

We don't have any fight or passion, no determination, and that is unforgivable for a team with so little talent. Port Vale were one of the worst teams I have seen this season, and we mustered one or two chances in 90 minutes that came more from luck than judgement. If anyone is seriously happy with that, then you are too easily satisfied!

None of us are happy with it but whats the point of taking it out on the players or the manager? It's the board that are letting us down at the moment so they should take the flack.

Are you insinuating that Dick Knight and other members of the board picks the team and decides on formation and tactics?

Can't see why we need to replace them, Kuipers had a good game today apart from some poor kicking.

not saying we need to replace them - just i doubt very much if there is any keeper on this planet, let alone this earth, who can compare to this man:
