Did the fans boo the players at the end off the game

A group of about 6 or 8 were booing, obviously not real fans. They were talking during the game, things like "that 'Moon' is a good player. That 22 is creating lots of space. Why doesn't he bring Oatway on" etc etc.

I wasn't at the game, and I can accept that there will be an enormous sense of frustration at losing an on paper winnable game, but booing? Come on! How fickle can you get. We are in a tough run of disappointing results and mixed performances (no matter how shit we were last night, not all recent ones have been that bad) and it is at times like these that the team need support.

To use the popular parlance of our times, it is time to MAN UP and quit moaning about the results and be a part of helping the team dig themselves out of this hole.

I really don't know what people expected of this division, even most of the crap teams are of higher standard than our opponents of last year. The major frustration for me this season has been the constant spate of injuries. I cannot remember the last time we were able to put a settled side out, and this is really hurting us. It is difficult for us to settle whilst this is the case.

I have every confidence that we will turn this around at some point. Gus has done enough in his tenure here to earn our trust on that one. Sorry folks it's in hard times such as these that we as fans get to prove our worth, by all means vent your anger and frustration but keep an eye on the bigger picture at what is trying to be built at this football club. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither was the Amex, and they all turned out right in the end.

Most of what you say is correct and to be fair the fans got behind the team for the entire match. However, as you weren't even at the game it is difficult to appreciate quite how inept and abysmal this performance was, I have a huge amount of sympathy with those who booed because the performance deserved it, in the 35+ years of following Albion there have been plenty of times when fans have showed their displeasure.

Frankly, the ref had a shocker and the booing could easly been directed at him.

Watford are the worst team I have seen for a long time and would struggle in League 1, we destroyed them in the cup last year when they looked a better team. People pay their money and can voice their opinion IMO.

We must have a lot of psychic fans if they only booed because the players didn't come over and applaud the fans as of happened when the ref blew the whistle.

Personally, given where we've come from and how much effort the players have always put in and still do, I think a lot of our 'support' (abuse/no plan b/we're rubbish etc etc) is an embarrassment. If the team was as bad as those fans, we'd be relegated by Xmas.

The players need encouragement. If you feel like booing, f*** off and don't come back.

As for those that will now give it the big "I spent all this money going and it was rubbish" blah blah... We all did. With the exception of last season, chances are that on the road the team is more likely to lose than win. It was ever thus. If you can't live with that simple truth, you're better off sitting at home with your Sky subscription watching the Premier league.

Surely our fans wouldn't boo the plaeyrs for not coming over........ that really would be pathetic.

This 'given where we've come from', line is utter nonsense. Of course things could be worse and we could be fighting for survival, but we are not. People can only comment on what is in front of them, the performance was poor....... I didn't boo, but should the players be given a standing ovation for what in some cases were their half-hearted efforts? Should they be allowed to think this performance is acceptable and that the fans don't care, because they do..... and that is where the frustration probably is.

I generally don't agree with booing unless you're seriously unhappy with the players or want a change in management... I put this down to injury problems and a severe lack of confidence, so I'd rather we got behind them. But then it was a shocker so I guess they can't expect us to be happy. I clapped when a few of them did bother to thank the fans though.

I agree. People have a right to boo but it does not help anyone.

Who said they should be given a standing ovation? We've had a poor run in arguably the tightest division in Europe - hardly time to start booing. Save that for when the club needs a major overhaul. And where we've come from is very relevant. Anyone who has the perspective of knowing how crap a team can be (and we've seen plenty of dross in with the good times), won't be going overboard about this current run.

I think the boos were generally directed at the abject performance of the team, not at individuals.

I am not sure it helps, however we are the first to stand and wildly applaud at the end of a game when we play well. Players and some of the precious fans on here need to realise that we can get very frustrated having been spoilt last year with terrific stuff. But we are now playing against teams that are Used to playing in this division...we need to learn bloody quickly or we will drop out of this division with a whimper.

Didn't. But didn't clap them either, and coming from me, that's pretty scathing!

People aren't booing the run, they were booing the performance. Did you go last evening? If so, did you feel the performance was acceptable? (Not a criticism, just a question....things often get misconstrued on NSC). Perspective fair enough, but perhaps the perspective is that there is 'less' for the players the players to worry about so supporters should let them know their feelings and how much it matters..... Previously the mere survival of the club was an issue as we know and it came with complettely different pressures.

I'm going to stick my neck out here and say 'so what?'.

The fans were superb on the radio and really got behind the team. IF after the game has ended they want to voice their frustration at another crap performance then they are more than entitled. 9 games without a win and the whole game without a shot, let the boo, they supported them for 90 minutes while the game was playing, that's the main thing.
