From what I heard it was McGhee that had him scouted. Dick Knight had nothing to do with it. Though its typical of most MM outers that any decent transfer McGhee made were all Knight signings and all the shite one Knight had nothing to do with.

We finally agree on something.

You really are a prat of the highest order! McGhee didn't sign Revell, he was recommended to Dick Knight and he went and got him.

FFS If McGhee had his way we'd be trying to off load Shipperley by now!

No a man who ignore all the work mcghee did and then has the cheek to call the man a poor manager is not very wise...people quickly forget what went wrong at this club over the last 18 months..it wasnt mcghee's fault we lost our leaders and quality left......how were we ever going to stay up?

I would also appreciate you not name calling its not needed.

I really don't buy this Dick Tight is our saviour bollocks. The team and fans, rather fortuiously, saved our club at Hereford. Relegation then would have finished us off. OK, so the tight man got us back to Withdean, but at what cost? Any div could have signed that deal with the council, a deal that meant that the club lost fortunes every game!!! And we have the farce that is poodle perry, the planning expert. What a fine game he has played, well done perry, take a bow.

Just out of interest, in the time since we've left the Goldstone, how many clubs have built new stadiums?

Besides, next season, league 1 is going to be alot tougher to get out of than this year.

You are talking about one of Leeds, Luton, QPR, Southend,Barnslay or Hull coming down from the Championship.

Then you have Swansea, Tranmere, Oldham, Forest, Millwall and ourselves from League 1.

With that and one of the teams coming up from League 2 always ends up in the top 4 of League 1 the following season.

Believe me, next season is going to be considerably tougher in this league than this season.
And? Forest came down and struggled, Sheffield Wednesday came down and struggled, I see no reason any of those clubs should automatically bounce back. If you look at it most clubs don't challenge straight after coming down.

I think it is important that we at least challenge next season, players like Lynch, Cox, and Hammond won't want to be playing in League One forever.

Cox is hugely over-rated IMO. Dont see any clubs coming in for him any time soon. Lynch and Hammond however we may have trouble keeping in the summer.

Can't really see many clubs coming in for Hammond especially if Wilkins keeps playing him on left as he looks lost out there.

What people seem to conveniently forget is that Brighton Council giving us permission to play at Withdean was the last throw of the dice as everybody else had refused to allow us to play at their stadium. It has been turned around to appear that we went to Withdean out of choice, which is incorrect. Had the council said no that would have been the end of BHA as a league club.

My info is that Cox was going to a Premiership club in the Jan transfer window hence the club offered him a new deal on much improved wages, which he signed, to keep him here as they see him as an asset both in the team and saleable.

The only youngster that might go is Lynch..none of the rest are good enough....Robinson will defo never attract bigger clubs..gatting might get a contract offer from bognor or crawley at a push..And cox will come on in my opinion but needs a lot more time compared to lynch who I reckon could handle championship footie now.

Some observations:

1. It is too early to be predicting where we'll finish at the end of next season because there will probably be at least 4 players in and 4 out before the new season starts.

2. A Falmer YES on July 9th may mean we can attract better players and stand a better chance of persuading our good players to stay, a NO will mean the reverse.

3. The judgement over whether Dick Knight is a good chairman / Perry a good Chief Exec will be based upon whether or not we get Falmer. Personally, I think they've done well and that we'll get a YES in July.

4. Dean Wilkins should have got the managers job over the summer.

5. Overall, McGhee did a good job and history WILL look on him favourably as a manager who gave us many good times during a period of absolute poverty for the club. The time for the anti-McGhee sniping has to stop.

Cox was sensational at the start of the season. He has faded a bit since December which is understandable given it is his first season and he has played almost every game, he's still a good player.

I think that was probably true in January, however he had for a time been very poor for us and I doubt anyone will be looking at him in the summer.

EDIT:thats not to say hes not a good player, I just think after January the pressure of first team football caught up with him.

Dean Cox is a callow youth learning his trade in a physical league. What we've got out of him this season is a bonus. He can only get better, which will be good news for the club.

You are probably right, but next season who knows, he's shown what he can do and if he did it for a whole season (or as good as) and we didn't go up we'd surely struggle to hold on to him.

Yeah i'd agree with that. I think a rest will do Coxy a lot of good as it will alot of our young players. I can see next season being a very good one if we can strengthen in the right areas.
