Yeah taking us up and keeping us up screams useless!

being ignored by the board financially and losing players why we went down...signing revelll..useless..

:jester:

You really are a prat of the highest order! McGhee didn't sign Revell, he was recommended to Dick Knight and he went and got him.

FFS If McGhee had his way we'd be trying to off load Shipperley by now!

Yes i like winding people up,but im very serious about many things at this club, such as being potless for decades and an amature chairman who hasn't a clue about running a club properly.:D

But hey we all have our views:)

I know but to be serious for a moment, he took over when we were rock bottom and we've won two Championships, stayed up in the div 2 level and then promoted again via the playoffs.
There are teams like Bristol City who would kill for success like that. Not that amateur eh?

Thanks Yorkie. I have noticed a constant critical demeanour from Sir Albion. ;)

True, but I was focusing on the part "without Dick we would have a stadium and wouldn't be in millions of £s worth of debt".

I guess you can say that is also difficult to quantify, but noone has come forward with more cash and a site ready and waiting for the Stadium, as far as we know.

Sod it - everything is hypothetical, so I will just bide my time until Falmer gets the correct decision. Off to play football with the same gloves worn by Sir Michel 'G-d' Kuipers.
Yeah agree with you and also wait til falmer comes along, but also its a fact that with our huge debts right now its a no go for any investors:drink:

I will as it happens to be true.

I only wish there was some fantasy billionaire who could finance a mega-stadium/conference centre at Shoreham Harbour.

That is not really the point. They were all vital to the team that McGhee was shaping. Virgo wasn't worth £1.5m, but he was essential to us. His goals and workrate kept us in the league. Even if Harding wanted a move, he was still of paramount importance to us. He got muscled off the ball a few times, Burnley in particular, and cost us points, but he is the best left back out of Rents and Mayo. Our form declined after Oatway got injured. He was coming into some good form and is the closest we have had to a box-to-box player. Thankfully we now have Bertin, who is much better.

I hope you are wrong about Hinsh, but it doesn't look good. :(
Oatway. Box to Box ??. More like back end of centre circle to front of it !!

He never banked rolled the club, yeah he put 1.5 million in but i bet he has that back after the millions raised by the sale of players.

I know how bad it was,but realisticly it couldn't have got much worse bar the conference drop.:glare:

Im sticking to my guns that its the managers that have got us success not knight, although he gave them the job i praise the managers.
severe lack of funds by the board has contributed to our downfall???

Nobody has ever bank-rolled the Albion. Mike Bamber borrowed the money to buy players. It had to be paid back in the 1980s and started the decline into debt. We all know what happened next!

Why Shoreham Harbour? That's probably the worst possible idea of any - horrendous for traffic (that would put almost all of it through the City centre!) and useless for expansion or parking.

Think up some other tiny peninsula somewhere..... howabout the end of the pier? :dunce:

'Fantasy' was the presiding word!

From what I heard it was McGhee that had him scouted. Dick Knight had nothing to do with it. Though its typical of most MM outers that any decent transfer McGhee made were all Knight signings and all the shite one Knight had nothing to do with.
