Harding and Virgo were key to our cause. We were not quite the same team after Currie left and we also dearly missed Hinshelwood and Oatway.

Harding wasn't interested, just waiting for big move after under 21s came along and picked him. Virgo was over-rated (1.5 million good business for that lump, how would he have kept us up on his own ?), Currie was okay, drifted in and out of games, and Oatway (well hardly quality was he, just dirty). And I canot see Hinsh playing again, unfortunately for the lad !!

My realism is that numerous benifactors wanted to buy us while at gillingham,dick was chosen
The club after 10 years is still waiting for a stadium and we owe millions,yeah thats my realism

The 9 goals that he scored (more than twice as many as Leon) did help keep us up and the 1.5 million helped saved the club.

That is not really the point. They were all vital to the team that McGhee was shaping. Virgo wasn't worth £1.5m, but he was essential to us. His goals and workrate kept us in the league. Even if Harding wanted a move, he was still of paramount importance to us. He got muscled off the ball a few times, Burnley in particular, and cost us points, but he is the best left back out of Rents and Mayo. Our form declined after Oatway got injured. He was coming into some good form and is the closest we have had to a box-to-box player. Thankfully we now have Bertin, who is much better.

I hope you are wrong about Hinsh, but it doesn't look good.

Yes i like winding people up,but im very serious about many things at this club,such as being potless for decades and an amature chairman who hasn't a clue about running a club properly.

True, but I was focusing on the part "without Dick we would have a stadium and wouldn't be in millions of £s worth of debt".

I guess you can say that is also difficult to quantify, but noone has come forward with more cash and a site ready and waiting for the Stadium, as far as we know.

Sod it - everything is hypothetical, so I will just bide my time until Falmer gets the correct decision. Off to play football with the same gloves worn by Sir Michel 'G-d' Kuipers.
