Lasted longer than I expected. Probably a good pay off, why should her worry too much, paying his electric bill wont be a problem ever again for RDM and another Prem or Championship club will employ him or what about Portsmouth when the fans take over.

Without knowing the circumstances all i can say is not surprised,the team carried him last season and were playing for themselves when he took over..

He was sacked by West Brom. For me the surprise was seeing him hired in the first place despite winning the CL.

That's what i mean,the Chelsea Players were playing for themselves at the end of last season,even i could have guided them to the CL victory,therefore it was a risk in appointing him as he had not really done anything if the truth be told,it was a kind of false circumstance as to judge his potential..

True that.

It was obvious from the start that Abramovich didn't want him as manager, but felt duty bound to give him the job after he won the Champions League. He was always going to look for the first opportunity to sack him. The ONLY thing that would have saved Di Matteo would be if Chelsea had been top of the Premier League from start to finish and also a Champions League campaign CRUSHING all before them on their way to retaining the trophy. Even then he probably would have sacked him for not winning some noddy competition like the League Cup.

With the statements coming out of Chelsea it looks as though they've had talks with his replacement long before the firing. Let's hope it all goes tits up this season for them. Horrible club.

yep, 3 league titles in 7 years, 3 fa cups,2 league cups, champions league winners , absolute joke , and please dont give me some old bollocks about not swapping it for the integrity, and "real fans" of brighton ( the 2nd result i look for) 20,000 of you that go now couldnt be bothered to get to the withdean.
