You wonder whether Abramovich has considered quitting and, if so, the effect that will have on the club:

1. The fans are on his back.
2. The club needs to relocate sometime. This will be costly and contentious - the Battersea Project has already failed.
3. The old guard are nearing the end, and they need to spend a load more on the squad.
4. The chances of Mourinho / Guardiola / both managing other Top 4 club rivals in the next couple of years is high.

Because Benitez is hated at chelsea from his time at liverpool.
Yes, we know that.

But why are they not angry at the bloke who sacked your former player who won you the Champions league (witht the bonus of depriving Spurs of a Champions League place in the process) and replaced him with your most hated man in football management?

If you ask me, he's taking the piss out of Chelsea's fans, although I guess he probably deserves a bit slack being cut.

Abrahmovich is laughing at Chelsea fans. He couldn't give less of a shit what they think.

They're not on Abramovich's back, they should be though. They're on Rafa's back because he's a shit negative manager with a history vs. Chelsea.

Why are they not angry at abramovich ?? Come on , we were skint and facing possible extinction when he bought bates out, and we have enjoyed an unprecedented period of success since his arrival, do you really have faith in the average football fan to see the bigger picture ?

I think that's fair enough to be honest as it's not like RA has recruited a stream of unpopular managers.

And of course, if RA had never arrived, we'd never have got to chuckle at Ken Bates being foisted on Leeds United - the joke that keeps on giving.

OK, I grant you they're not chanting his name on a Saturday but I think he's losing the fans with his shabby treatment of staff, and the Clattenburg episode hasn't helped either. The tipping point will be the ground though. The quote to redevelop Stamford Bridge was £600 million and playing away for 3 seasons while the work is done, i.e. not going to happen.

I still wouldnt rule out battersea, the amount of plans to redevelop that site that have come and gone over the years is phenomenal.

That is very true. From theme parks, to hotels, to retail to football, the site has had just about every world famous architect or developers enter competitions or go for planning permission over the years.

I took the Chelsea bid perhaps as a serious feasibility study, but also as leverage to the London Borough of Chelsea and Kenningston to say work with us, or lose us from your borough for good?

It's not a great site for transport either. It was 10 years ago now, but having played football regularly in Battersea Park, I know what a pain in the arse it was to get to.

I see your point on the transport, but dont forget the planned northern line extension to clapham junction and battersea pk.
