Given the form of Ferguson especially, I reckon Undav would have a very good chance of getting game time next season. Depends really what RDZ regards JP's best position as being when everyone is fit.

They are:

25 goals in 33 starts in the Belgian top flight
5 goals in 6 starts in the Premier League
18 goals in 23 starts in the Bundesliga

How would people feel if we were linked with a 27 year old with those stats now?

I think a lot of the assumptions about next season have been thrown in the air.

I personally don't see how Undav thrives in a RDZ team. But now, who knows?

One of the more positive aspects of De Zerbi’s departure is that a new manager may be more minded to find a way of utilising the club’s best finishers effectively. Could be good for Ferguson and hopefully Undav.

What RDZ wanted from strikers is very different from the way others ask for. Having said which, undav was still effective in that model.

Bit a new manager may want something different. Welbeck, ferguson, undav, pedro will all be on a new learning curve.

If we don’t get Undav back then we need to go into the market IMO, we can’t risk a campaign with Welbeck & Fergie as our only CFs, I don’t see Pedro as a CF.

The second half one - the ball arrives behind him, and he actually does a really good job of adjusting to hook it towards goal - and only a really good bit of defending from Casemiro on the line prevents him scoring. I don't see Ferguson or Undav doing any more with that cross.

The first half one, is a terrible miss at the point of Joao Pedro's actual SHOT - but there is not a chance that either of the other two produce the footwork that created the opportunity in the first place.

I agree with this. I remember Calvert Lewin saying that under Ancelotti he was told to, whenever possible, shoot first time without taking a touch. And he had that great period under him and has not looked the same player since. Feels like Ferguson could use similar advice, and Undav already does it. Coaching strikers/finishing is probably an underrated skill.

On a related point, how on earth did Ancelotti end up managing Everton?!

Because we own him for another two seasons, and they don't? He doesn't play for them anymore, so he does not have Champions League football to look forward to.
