I did think that as I was writing it but, to be fair, Lewis is nothing like Big Jack. Lewis is quicker, stronger, better in the air and better with his feet, although I do suspect Big Jack would be better in a fight, drinking, or funny anecdotes

I don't disagree with much of that, although saying he would have done equally well at Derby is counter factual.

What we do know is that he has developed to his full potential under Bielsa, and of course that was always the intention. It was interesting that Potter said that he trusted Bielsa to play him out of position, it indicates both that he was being closely monitored whilst under loan, but also the high regard in which your manager hold ours.

Bielsa makes average players good and good players great through world class coaching. It is what he has done for clubs and two national sides throughout a long career. and I don't really get why this should be even under discussion.

Maybe, but probably not. And yeah true enough, there's career progression and so on.

We're fairly tolerant of opposing fans on here (tbh having opposing fans visit the forum is a rarity now we are in the PL, it used to happen a fair bit when further down the pyramid), so largely the words used against the club may not be from your mouth/fingers, but from the other fans of the club.

Actually the biggest clubs do tolerate opposing fans, Liverpool and Man U both have websites which do, and some of the smaller clubs in lower divisions are fairly welcoming, but you are right it is a rarity. I find it depressing frankly.

Football is a wonderful game, and we all love it, but the dislike and contempt expressed towards opposing fans online is a sad manifestation of a toxic part of its culture. (It is even worse at the games themselves of course). There is good natured banter, but football websites go beyond that anc cross a line.

Or maybe it is the internet and the fact we aren't face to face but behind keyboards? It is not as though supporters of one's own club are always civilised to each other!

But I do find the fact that supporters of both clubs get SO aerated about Ben White (in this instance) beyond absurd. And websites such as this (no offence to you intended, you are better than many) are therefore not pleasurable places to spend time in. But then I feel the same about WACCOE and Squareball.

I think because we generally finished quite comfortably above Leeds when we were in the Championship I'd actually forgotten how ****ing unbearable they are. If any of you can remember what they were like when they were down in League One I'm sure a lot of this current behavior from them will ring a few bells

I just wonder why, rather than saying that you were sure her preferred Brighton to Leeds, you instead attack the validity of the question?

We'll find out soon enough. If it's really Leeds as you fantasists believe, he'll not sign a contract extension here, which will leave either a transfer request or endure one more year, before Brighton are forced to sell with 12 months left.

Stick a tenner on it if you think he's desperate to join, Shirley he will join Yorkshire's second best club, won't he??

Fair enough, I stand corrected. It isn't a League that I have taken much interest in for many many years, I follow the Division my club plays in, obviously.

Which this upcoming season will be the Premier League. When I read this website I wonder whether we are better off out of it, mind. It clearly changes clubs for the worse, look at you guys on here.

When to the rest, in 2020, you're just another newly promoted club with a championship squad, nothing more...... Big club, rich history, big fan base........... great, woopy doo, nobody cares and none of that matters one jot, nor will it have 1 iota of difference to if you survive ........ But for so many Leeds fans, it seems they truly believe their ground, fanbase, Don Revie era still means everything in 2020. As if a non Leeds fan would really care in 2020, more so a professional footballer.......... You emulate yourselves as deserving of something you haven't yet earned or proven.

Tiny club Bournemouth have been here 5 years and I'll wager any money if you gave all PL chairman 2 choices, would you A) sooner have the club size and fanbase of Leeds or Bournemouth. All would choose Leeds for obvs commercial reasons.

But If the question B (as of today) would you sooner have the full squad of Leeds or small Bournemouth, the majority would choose Bournemouth....... But how could it be?

Because players win games, not history books or stadia.

Burnley or Leeds - Burnley (as Chris Wood proved).......

All this may very well change in time, and fair play if you earn it....... I don't assume fir one second, we'll stay in the PL indefinitely, I certainly don't believe we are "back where we belong"

But for LUFC fans to somehow project yourself as superior is utter bollocks. Your squad is (presently) inferior. So is your academy. Only time, smart recruitment and results will change it, your history won't, your large old ground won't and neither will your fans...... And that is why a player could choose Burnley over Leeds or Lord forbid, Brighton over Leeds as of today. It's not because of Elland Road Vs Amex or Brighton fans Vs Leeds fans.

The tables may turn and if/when they do, i'd fully expect many players would then choose established PL Leeds. Nobody Argues that youre not a big club, but until you prove it on the pitch with more than hot air, historical statistics or your own delusions of grandeur, excuse us lowly Brighton fans who fought tooth and nail to get here, not kowtowing to your subservient narrative.
