I think the last time we locked horns you were comforting the converted that the money was in place for the stadium when it has become clear that it was not at the time.

Any evidence to support your delusion?

Any evidence to support your delusion?

Look, back in November 2008 when the Buckingham Group signed some sort of preliminary contract, I and one or two others mentioned that we were sceptical of whether this meant funding was in place as trumpeted by many of the regular posters, LB included.

It then transpires that the club made a statement in May 2009, that unequivocally proved us doubters right.

The statement included a quote from Martin Perry in May 2009 ''Without the entrepreneur's interest-free long-term loans, the new stadium could not have been built.''

Look I have learnt that being a fan isn't about being accurate, but having an opinion and hoping events somehow give some support to that opinion.

Alternatively if events discredit your views, then plod on and pretend it didn't happen.

El Presidente be careful coz you too mentioned in February 2009 that you had assumed that the funding decision had been decided and that the funds were in place, YOU WERE WRONG but I am guessing you you will continue plodding on whilst questioning my eagerness to trawl previous posts.

So I do not know what you are questioning about my earlier post other than I somehow broke the etiquette of questioning LB who is continually inaccuarte on the many things he posts.

Its strange really, if many of the regulars on here did a quick tick questionairre on their recent views at what has gone on with the Albion, such as Falmer Funding, Wilkins, Dick Knight and Micky Adams most would be proved wrong time and time again.

Thats fine, but next time anyone on here harangues and bullies bhadeb, maybe take a minute or two to remember she has been far more accurate than most on here have.

Glad he's back in work, just a shame it's with Shamtown and not us. All the best to an Albion legend.

Could be an excellent appointment. Southampton might have to bring a lot of youth players through to the first team and Dean Wilkins has a good track record of doing this.

Good luck to him.

Two statements for BigGully and then i can't be arsed with this anymore

In order to get planning permission, proof of funding had to be demonstrated to the council

TB has stated that he underwrote the funding for the stadium from the outset

A little presumptuous to make a post and then not wish a response.

Are you saying that when the club signed the preliminary contract with Buckingham in November 2008 all the funding was in place and it guaranteed the Stadium, as so many were saying ??

I am sorry that clearly wasn't the case.

Anyway well done to Dean.

Bloom was always underwriting part of the stadium (he said so himself). He just ended up underwriting more than he was anticpating, Bloom was always on board and as such funding was always in place. There was never any danger that we weren't going to have funding.

Well done to Dean, wasn't a good enough manager but will be a top top quality assistant up there.
