I actually felt a bit sorry for White today. Ok we all know he's useless, but he is not the biggest problem at this club and I felt sorry for him standing their taking an incredible amount of stick from the fans. He must be in no doubt that we do not want him here, and hopefully Knight will do the decent thing and let him go, but he doesn't deserve to be the individual who takes ALL the criticism when the players and board are all far more at fault for our plight.

I agree. The players and the Board are far more deserving of our opprobrium than poor old Dean White.

I thought DW was very unlucky this afternoon. To lose Kuipers and Forster for this game was bad enough but then to lose Elphick was even worse. If there is a criticism then perhaps he shouldn't have sent Hinshlewood on if he was injured.

I don't blame him for sending Carole on so early. He would have been criticised if he had left it until 10 minutes from the end and we had lost 0-1 with 11 players. He probably thought he had used up his bad luck for the afternoon. Even with McNulty injured I still think the substitution gave us the best hope of getting something out of the game. What was the other option, shut up shop and settle for a 0-1 defeat.

It happened to Mcghee as well though.

I thought Whites interviews was one of the more thoughtful and honest interviews I've heard from a "manager" at the club in a long while.

I've never blamed him for a minute blamed him for the situation we're in. He works tirelessly for the club in a number of capacities.

His interview actually cheered me up on the way home from the game in the car.

I'll rough quote the priceless bit that had me smiling :

SCR Interviewer : "So Dean, do you think the injuries had a bearing on the game today?"

Dean White : " Well, our top scorer got injured in the pre match warm up. Then last seasons player of the year got injured during the game followed by [this seasons] our record signing. ..........I'm not sure ?, ........ what do you think ? " :lolol::bowdown:

White was very unfortunate today to put it mildly. The only dodgy decision was to bring on a clearly unfit Hinshlewood for Elphick. But even that decision was pretty much forced on him due to injuries and suspensions.

Oh come on, the first post in this thread was pathetic.

Bringing on Hinshelwood was unavoidable due to injury, bringing Hinshelwood off again was unavoidable due to injury, and we had to get Carole on quickly to give him a chance to turn the game, which he could have done. You never know what might have happened if McNulty hadn't got injured.

To suggest the subs White made make him look incompetant, well. What a load of rubbish. White's incompetancy is tactics based. :lolol:

You can guarantee though that if he'd sent on Cook and played Whing out of position enough of the serial whingers on here would be moaning at White for players playing out of position when there was a perfectly adequate replacement on the bench.
Not if they had made the decision that he was not fit enough and wouldn't be on the bench at all. They're happy enough to use Cook so why not put Pearson on the bench as well?

Whats that all about playing our 3rd and last sub with 30 minutes to go and
1-0 down ?. Bold or stupid ?. I would go with the second option. Tactical ineptitude beyond belief.

You wanted Adams out badly! You've got it and now we'll have to face the music until the next man can be found.

On loan at Lewes.
Gargan and Cook were also out on loan. We should have recalled him too. IMO like.

As it goes Gargan would surely have been a better option than McLard, a not very good winger, up front.

he was bloody unlucky, Elphick was a bit of a freak one, Hinsh said he was fit but clearly once playing he felt he wasn't. McNaulty was just plain bad luck. What else is the bloke going to do he was trying to get a goal and so threw on Carole to try and liven things up

But he passed a fitness test and declared himself ready. I'd imagine with the injuries he has sustained over the years Hinshelwood would know whether he was capable of doing a job or not and the manager has to make a decision on that basis. The decision eventually proved to be incorrect but was only found out once he was on the pitch.

Maybe, although I'm not sure when he went out (Jan 1st I think but not sure if he got injured, recalled and loaned again?). To be pedantic, Cook was out on work experience, which means he can come back at any time (I think he can be registered for both clubs at the same time too).

McLeod has played up front for QPR in the past and has more experience than Gargan. Maybe in hindsight you'd have given someone else a go but I can see why he went with him.

From the official website - Dean White:

". . . when you lose your top goalscorer, your player of the year and your record signing of the season, when you have already lost before the game your goalkeeper and one of your senior players to a five game suspension, it does remove quite a bit of our backbone.

"No disrespect to the players who have come in and come on but it is difficult for them. You are putting young lads on into a very hard situation, and then you ask them to play with ten men against eleven."

Sort of puts some perspective on the situation?

Yeah it's easy to say he shouldn't have been on the bench now but people forget that its not unusual for teams to have players involved who are patched up and not 100% Recall a few weeks ago the comments on Fraser and Virgo? playing despite having bad ankles etc.

Oh shut up Gareth. You can't blame White for the injuries.

Quite right.

He tried a gamble and it did not pay off. I say unlucky, and at least he knew he had to go for the win. lose 1-0 lose 4-0 makes no difference. (except goal difference of course.0

Hove, f***ing ACTUALLY.
White and Booker continue to bimble along at the club like a bad smell.

Maybe our inability to attract a decent manager is linked to the boards (and DK in particular) retisence to allow any new manager to clear out the dead wood in the coaching staff.

Heads went down after the penalty, it mirrors the lack of confidence the fans have in the Chuckle Brothers that they failed to organise and motivate the resources they had available to them.
