Rubbish. I've lived in the countryside for the last 29 years. I belong to a variety of local organisations. NONE of them are represented by the Countryside Alliance.somerset said:it is indisputable that the CA does represent all countryside issues and organisations.

A very depressing thread demonstrating once again that the British don't gve two shits about anything unless it's got fur and a tail. THEN we get all worked up.
I agree with you and it's good that it's being discussed. What depresses me is that I can't remember a topic on NSC (certainly since the start of the Iraq war) that has generated quite so many posts and threads. If I DID start a topic on AIDS in Africa it wouldn't generate anything like the strong feelings that this has aroused. caz99 for example is almost weeping onto her keyboard and I just think that, once again, as a nation our priorties are wrong. Just my view and I accept the fact that I don't care one way or the other is a minority view - everyone else has very strong opinions but it's not a subject that I can get worked up about.ChapmansThe Saviour said:Start a thread about the situation in Sudan then.
Just because there are worse things happening in the world does not mean that we should just ignore issues that a lot of people feel very strongly about.
What is there to say about Sudan? f***ing hell it's depressing but there is no real discussion about it, we should be giving all we can (I've been donating, have you?) but I can't see what there is to talk about. Fox hunting raises vlaid issues that we can talk about and will be done to death on here as was the Iraq situation when we first went in and still is now with the threads about Bigley and the hostage situaiton.

No. I take part in protests, demonstrations and pickets. I've done benefit gigs for a number of causes. I've collected door-to-door for Greenpeace, I give to Christian Aid and Oxfam. Basically I do what I can as a humble foot soldier in the anti-corporatist army.caz99 said:...
