0-3 defeat at home to PSG after being down to 10 men after 20 minutes.
Good. The Greenwood thing really, really pissed me off.0-3 defeat at home to PSG after being down to 10 men after 20 minutes.
Worse that that, 0-3 down at half-time and with 10 men so game over early against their big rival, Greenwood subbed at the break for tactical reasons. Nice beat Monaco too so a great weekend for PSG.0-3 defeat at home to PSG after being down to 10 men after 20 minutes.
Time to m....He was, though.
Sacked, I mean.
I fear I may have done lasting damage. PTSD.Time to m....
You know the rest
Third red in what, 4 or 5 games? Win 5-0, lose 3-0 ... some things never change. The player that was sent off won't be seen by the light of day again... Dahoud take two!
“We’re a stronger club because of that, because of those sort of setbacks. So we’ve never been knocked off course when we’ve lost people. And the irony of that is that all we are about is people … the relationships, the trust, the confidence that comes from that is everything.” De Zerbi appeared to break that trust when he described Brighton’s 4-0 defeat by Roma in their historic run to the last 16 of the Europa League last year as a “rude awakening” and questioned the investment in his squad. “He was using that to put pressure on me and Tony,” Barber says. “We don’t work like that. So we were never going to respond. I think it certainly caused a change in the relationship. But you know what he was trying to do, what he thought was best for his players and his team and his job.”
So RDZ couldn’t or maybe wouldn’t ”read the room”? Quelle surpriseBarber in the Guardian:
Paul Barber: ‘I joined Brighton on a handshake deal … it’s about trust’
Brighton’s chief executive tells Ed Aarons about his mission to help youngsters and why club are stronger after Chelsea’s raidswww.theguardian.com
Most of the article is about FBB and mentoring youngsters / young male mental health. Certainly the bit you’ve quoted is relevant to this thread but I’m going to signpost that. Irrespective of your opinion on RDZ it’s a piece worth reading - even if the journalist is a Palace fan.Barber in the Guardian:

So...reading between the lines...he was sacked?Barber in the Guardian:

I would read it as he wanted a stronger squad and for us to spend money and the bloom/ barber didn’t want to….WITH HIM So they said no, forcing his hand to submit his “ so long and thanks for all the fish”So does this new article change our views about whether or not he was sacked? Anyone know?
I would read it as he wanted a stronger squad and for us to spend money and the bloom/ barber didn’t want to….WITH HIM So they said no, forcing his hand to submit his “ so long and thanks for all the fish”
they then , taking RDZ’s suggestion, lashed out £200m on players for another manager to have a go with!
I am not a conspiracy theorist, but it just appeared very convenient, especially as it had been suggested in the press that we had been courting our current manager for some time.
We can't have been "courting" our current manager for very long, seeing as he had literally only BEEN a manager for about 18 months when we appointed him!...

The circumstances of the spending in the summer were ALL to do with a) the club’s very positive PSR position compared to the majority, which enabled us to get players usually out of reach and also get some players from clubs impacted (Minteh) and b) the impending rule changes.I would read it as he wanted a stronger squad and for us to spend money and the bloom/ barber didn’t want to….WITH HIM So they said no, forcing his hand to submit his “ so long and thanks for all the fish”

I’d read it as he shouldn’t have gobbed off, stopped trying and whinged in the press, he’d still be our manager but would have had to accept TB, PB and the recruitment team choose the players. He would probably have had an input too as until his strop I think things were good.I would read it as he wanted a stronger squad and for us to spend money and the bloom/ barber didn’t want to….WITH HIM So they said no, forcing his hand to submit his “ so long and thanks for all the fish”

No, I am suggesting his requirements did not fit the thinking of the current ownership of the club, therefore it was a fait Accompli.Right, so basically you’re pointing to him having been sacked. Thanks for clarifying.
