Calamity
On the highlights last night BBC were saying he was the probable starter. Along with carragher in defence, Gerrard starting on the left, lennon on the right, heskey up front.
......... Rooney ....... Heskey
Gerrard ... Lampard ... Barry ... Lennon
Cole ... Terry ... Carragher ... Johnson
................ James
I have a bigger problem with Carragher playing than with James playing.
That is basically what got us qualified (Carragher excepted obviously). Quite happy to see Gerrard starting on the left with licence to roam, he's combined well with Rooney doing that.
Why does the Crouch always end up as sub though? It's like "we're in a hole, call for the beanpole.."
Because once he has been sussed (about 20 minutes), he becomes ineffective.

How's he ended up scoring about 1 in 2 for England then? Seems pretty effective for a forward to me.Because once he has been sussed (about 20 minutes), he becomes ineffective.
Barry is the only certainty, Capello said yesterday he only names his team 2 hours before KO.....so maybe he let slip?!
I have a theory that all this only naming the team hours before kick off is a bit of a smokescreen and bollocks. I'm sure he must tell the players well in advance of that.
I can't see how it is good for morale and confidence of the players not to know if they're playing or not until hours before the start of the game.
I like Capello and everything he's done for the England team, but if it really is true the players don't know, it's the only thing he does I disagree with.

I still recall him being chipped by Raphael Meade at Vicaridge Road.
Watford 0 Albion 1
