Not sure when a poll should be officially closed but may I suggest 6.00 pm tomorrow evening. Most regulars will have had a look in on here over the 4 days and we can see who comes out on top. I think a few of the Harveys big boys will come in tomorrow so its going to be mighty close. If Attila has not got his vote in by then and the great Dark Star go down by a single vote expect ructions on here on an unprecedented scale.

Dark Star by miles. For lots of reasons (not just the fact that they run Glastonwick with me) among them the fact that most of the lager drinkers I know get along very well with a pint of Hophead, which can set them on the way to being converted! Harveys is lovely, but it's an acquired taste even for ale drinkers I reckon.

along with my waistline and total inability to attract women?[/QUOTE

I used to drink lager till I was in my mid twenties, am thinner now than I was then and Robina quite likes me I'm happy to say :) Been to St Pauli recently? Going up this year...

I have not sadly. My team is actually Hertha...who will be swopping places with St Pauli shortly. Booo. Would have been good to see the two play each other. I shall be in Koln (gegen Bayer) to see them relegated though. A friend was out there recently though, and brought me back a mag with had an ad for the Jolly Roger (the fan pub) "Working Class Cocktail Club." The mind boggles, but it sounds interesting.

Steinhauser, a bit of an Aldi special.

I might have to venture down there. I get Erdinger and Bitburger at my local supermarket. Whilst nice a change would be nice.

I've been investigating a London brewery called Meantime. They do two nice drinks: Helles and Kolner. I came across them in Lewes a few weeks back.

Not a fan of Erdinger.

Aldi have 2 German beers as a rule, both are not too bad.

Great brewery. They have just done a tie up with Dark Star to supply their pubs with a lager since Dark Star stopped that side of things. They do a lovely Porter but you probably wouldn`t like that because you might taste something.

Why all this snobbery? I've got pretty good taste buds thank you, both for food and drink. I have tried real ale, I just dont like it. And I dont like the snobbery which goes with it, or the horrible chubby greasy haired people that tend to drink the stuff. The pubs also smell of farts (very been to The Gardeners Arms in Lewes?)
