Well thank goodness we had a successful transfer window and bought in a first team striker.

Oh, wait...

We can of course play anyone we like up front but if the past is anything to go by they won't score goals and they will miss lots of chances!

As have Maupay, Connolly and Welbeck. The point you're missing is that we've now got midfielders/attacking players who do score goals - and look likely to do so - unlike the Stephens and Propper days. Trossard, Mac and Moder all like a goal or two. Richards and Sarmiento are pretty sharp too.

Just us Brighton fans ............................... and every person who has seen the headlines in The S*n!

I was getting whatsapp messages about it from fans of other clubs almost at the same time as I found out. He is a very high profile player and most fans of other clubs would love him to play for them. Daft to think they don’t know about it imo

Bad news. Weird how there’s reports of Bissouma training and playing when I was told by about 6 posters on NSC we won’t see him for a while

People said he was not going to play against Norwich or indeed in any game before this is all settled. Training is a different thing. I'll buy a hat and eat - I'll livestream it - it if he is playing against Norwich.

Are these a recurrence of injuries he has had throughout his career ? We took a chance with him and it is not working out.

Not working out? His 6 goals last season were pretty useful.

Anyway, not the end of the world. This is DWs heatmap this season:

Basically more similar to a left winger than a pure striker and there's plenty of options for that role (March, Mac Allister, Moder to mention a few).

He will never be able to play every game a season, that's why he was available. Our medical team will get him back to fitness with time, no rush. He contributes when he's fit and has been worth the investment so far. We'll treat him right, get him fit and he'll repay us on the pitch - again.

It was a risk, we all knew that and he has played a bit and been good for the most part. Is anyone actually shocked?

Good luck to him and hopefully they can sort him out so that he can keep playing, even if only for limited minutes. Quality player on his day

Shocked no, disappointed the club didn’t see this might happen with a proven sick note yes .

Some dilberts on here talk as though the club never thought through this scenario. You know, that incredibly well run club that we all (Well, maybe not all) support. Or some of you just want to beat the club with a big stick over something. Really not sure why people do that. Must have a miserable home life or something. I think hes been great for us, more than I expected for sure and will be good for the younger players to have somebody like him around.

Posted on another thread to say that I’d heard the specialist we use has found a deep routed structural issue with his hamstring that has most likely been the cause of his wider injuries through the years that has gone undiagnosed until now. The surgery is to repair this issue and will likely result in a much fitter more robust Welbeck for the rest of his career.

Off the record have been told the rehab from this is incredibly tough but if anyone can do it it’s Danny based on his past, just don’t expect to see him this side of New Year.

Agreed on both counts. Obviously Biss is going to train, but not a hope he's playing until the court case.
Welbeck has done really well for us when he's played, I'd reckon we've got more out of him than most thought, but he is replaceable, unlike someone like Maupay or (currently) Tross. Also he'd be getting in the way of of Cucu.
Hopefully this clears the current problem.

The club is obviously winging it, that's the way it's run

Those are always options - but none of them offer what Welbeck does in terms of back to goal, holding it up, laying it off or touching it on to someone with a defender rammed up their arse in quite the way Welbeck does.

Meanwhile back in the real world we are left with Maupay Connolly and locadia . Yep sorry your right no need to panic or worry about it [emoji23][emoji23]

Court case ?

There isn't one unless he's charged.

Oh no! Youre right Dilbert , sorry doogie,. Of course we play with 3 strikers in every game. Luckily youre not in charge. Many more ways to skin a rabbit and if there was a choice of having you in charge or Messers Bloom, Ashworth and Barber, I know who Id prefer.
