Unfortunate for him, but to be honest, he hasn't really set the world alight this season. This is a great opportunity for Connolly, Mac allister and Moder to step up and prove how good they are.

Jesse maybe available, suspect salary expectations would be ridiculous ! He would inject pace up front .

That's where he played last season, because Maupay was fit and started most games as central striker.
As long as that remains the case, we can cover this off with no real problems. It's the cover up at central striker that's the issue. If Neal gets injured, Danny would have been the obvious option to shuffle into the central position.
We might get away with just Maupay and Connolly, but they are far from immune to injury or loss of form. If they're not vaccinated, they really should be.
With the arrival of Cuccerella it is unlikely we would someone to have done the job out wide that Welbeck did for us last season. Before injury he was destined i'm sure, to play a far more central role.
Rick pickings in the free agent market with the likes of Andy Carroll, Wilfried Bony, Jordan Ice and even Gaston Ramirez looking for clubs.

Out of all the options of the (usually play midfield or out wide) players to come into the front three, Solly would be my choice as well.
The sexiest option would be Lamptey, Attacking Inside Right and Trossard goes left, but I don't see it happening.
I think GP is most likely to bring Connolly in, MacAllister next most likely.

Maupay is pretty much as immune to injuries as you're gonna get from a footballer.
But if the worst would happen, Trossard would move up front with someone else playing in his role. Not the end of the world.

While disappointing it is hardly unexpected. Lallana's injuries have been managed spectacularly well but to get lucky twice would be quite something.
Maupay is the only striker we can't afford to lose really.

Bad news. Weird how there’s reports of Bissouma training and playing when I was told by about 6 posters on NSC we won’t see him for a while
Personally I would be surprised and disappointed to see him play before the date he's bailed for, ie 3rd Nov. Hopefully there will be no charges and he'll be free to carry on but if he plays before then he'll get the dogs bollox of abuse from other fans. That said, that doesn't preclude him training as he will need to be ready when called upon by the club.

Suspect Wellbeck’s absence will provide more of an opportunity for Sarmiento than for Connolly.

I’m not so sure. Connolly looked superb in the cup against Swansea. I think GP will start with him keeping Locadia and Sarmiento on the bench.
Potter could of course stick Moder or Mac Allister in as an extra attacking midfielder but I think he’ll want two orthodox(ish) strikers in the team to finish the plethora of chances Cucurella & Lamptey are going to fire into the 6 yard box as they absolutely destroy Norwich down the flanks.
Dont feed them.

The fact remains, Connolly (along with Mac Allister) looked incredibly dangerous against Swansea. Mac bossed it at No.10 finding Connolly’s intelligent and incisive runs.
Like Maupay, if Connolly is confident and not over thinking his finishing, he’ll easily get double figures, he has the natural talent.
Of course and we're now at the usual place of some Albion fans refusing to see that in favour of a missed pass or scuffed half chance.
90% of the posters here had forgotten all about Sarmiento until a couple of weeks ago.
Now he's firmly in the Premier League XI based on 1 superb goal and the fact he's not Connolly.
It's only fair to write - I am a huge fan of 'more haircuts than goals', and have used it numerous times on here.
