If he's in 7th place behind Loftus-Cheek and Mount then I'm even less in favour of him coming.

BO says No, so chillax

Why do you think they made a surprise point about Webster being able to play rightback ?

Webster, Balogun, Schelotto can do it between them. Or Solly could switch to right wingback with Bernardo on the left.

Yes, I actually mentioned the Potter ‘Webster RB’ quote as surprising in an earlier post. I suppose the writing was on the wall after that. Still don’t agree with the thought that we don’t need to sign a RB tho’. Just my opinion, like!

With regards to right back, if there is one out there who is cheap or free and doesn't mind being back up then sure, sign him up. We currently have Montoya, Bernardo, Balogun and Webster who all have experience in that position, Schelotto to come back and even Solly would be perfectly capable as a wing back and thats before considering anyone in the developement squad, it really isn't a priority.

As for Drinkwater, a year out is a looooong time at the top level, he will probably never get back to his previous standards, i'm not a huge fan of Stephens but currently, he is miles ahead of Drinkwater, glad there is nothing in this rumour.

I would obviously go along with Drink water as I have suggested him in the last 2 transfer windows as a most obvious player to target, but BO says it is no and he has better contacts at the club than anybody on here. Whether or not they would deliberately mislead him is another argument.

No way can Balogun & presumably Webster play right wing back which looks our likely formation for a lot of the season at present. Nor Bernardo. So I think we do need a RB / RWB specialist urgently. Schelotto doesn’t seem up to this level either. So I think we do need one - Montoya didn’t convince me as a RWB Friday either tbh.

Just waiting for Palace to take Drinkwater and up his wages to £125k pw as they consider themselves a big club

Now that would be funny, especially if he bombed, which is likely...

Disagree about Montoya but thats all about opinions, although i didn't see him on Friday.

I notice you didn't mention March? I have always preferred Solly on the right personally and for much of the last two seasons he has played more as a wing back than a winger, yes he has had cover behind him with the actual full back but still think he is more than capable.

Bernardo played right back for a season at Leipzig, we are only talking about cover but he will be very adequate cover for right back.

One of the few times i have been impressed with Schelotto was against Chelsea as a rwb, ok we lost heavily that day, so may not want to hang my hat on him but that result had more to do with Hazard and co being unplayable than Schelottos failings.

Like i said we are looking for cover, its not a priority in my opinion.

This ................. and if Graham Potter thinks he has enough resources to cover RB/RWB then maybe we should give him the benefit of the doubt that he knows what he's doing?

I would say we should be looking for genuine competition for Monty. It looks like we don’t see it as priority which, IMHO, is a mistake...

Yes Schelotto was immense that day & of course deserves a chance. Good point re March although I’m thinking defensively it needs a natural right footer - same reason Bernardo can’t play there imo. I love Montoya as a RB he was good last season but just felt he was too defensive Friday which worries me for that role. We shall see!

May I point out that Schelotto has had a few chances, and is injured anyway...
