Oh yes...and you can park your car next to the ground

Have Harlequins played there yet this season? Might just go along when they do, if not

Christ, what a dumb, mean-spirited article. I mean, I don't like the club, or John Majeski, or their twatty yokelly teenage plastic fans very much either, but I can't see how anyone could take anything away from Coppell and what he's doing this season. I've found myself really wanting them to win, I think he's achieving miracles.

I have to say what he said as well. madjeski is a **** of the highest order but what Reading have done this season is impressive.

Why Holt left The Times to write for that comic I'll never know.

I think a salary believed to be in the region of £190K may have had something to do with it.

All the tabloid shit do that kind of thing. Remember the sun making up an interview with Colonel H Jones widow after he was awarded the VC?
No arguements from me there, although I am slightly hypocritical bacause I buy the sun, but only for the tits and the sport.

Couldn't agree more. Holt's brief is to write "controversial" columns but this is just bollocks from top to bottom.

Who says Hunt deliberately kneed Cech? You can' tell from watching the replay 100 times.

Coppell put out a team that got a draw at Old Trafford. (more than almost anyone else manages). What's the problem.

The fact that Holt can't name a famous Reading player is a typical myopic Premiership-obsessed hack attitude. They've been a lower-league club most of their days - doesn't mean they haven't had their own legends.

And Reading fans had every reason and right to give Pardew and McGee abuse - both professed loyalty and then f***ed off.

Holt's underlying motive seems to be a kind of snobbery against small clubs crashing the Premiership party. If it wasn't for teams like Reading punching above the weight the Premier League would be even duller than it already is.

We all know Madjeski's an arse. But so is Oliver Holt.

The only decent thing on that date is Ealing Trailfinders RFC (3rd) vs Worthing RFC (1st) in London/South East Division One (In Football terms that's Conference).

Apart from printing mock up photo's of British soldiers pissing on Iraqis in the middle of a war.

The Mirror was stitched up by the security services over that, in retaliation for their opposition to the illegal and immoral invasion of Iraq. Still I suppose Piers Morgan should be thankful he got off more lightly than David Kelly.

Can't argue with that. Pretty much my thoughts.

Oh, on this point. If a football writer SERIOUSLY hasn't heard of Robin Friday then he shouldn't be in the job. Top man, legend in his own alcohol. Used to nip out to the Spreadeagle at half time in his kit to have a pint before going back and scoring in the second half.

Quite agree, Oliver Holt should be embarrassed by that article. What a load of bitter and twisted rubbish.

Poor article that.

If Sir Alex Ferguson says Coppell deserves Manager Of The Year then he should know. The fact Reading are capable of drawing at Old Trafford is a testament to their ability, and the fact they've been a fixture in the top half of the table shows they've been consistent as well.

Sure, Majdeski is an egomaniac but so what? I think Reading's attendances have been credible, and if you're going to have a pop at the fans then have a go at Wigan or Birmingham first.

And even I know that Kerry Dixon is a famous Reading player, their equivalent of Peter Ward.

All in all a shoddy rant by Holt.

Absolutely. Much as I dislike Reading and Madejski in particular, Oliver Holt's story is full of vitriol and bile, and cannot be taken seriously. And as for all that Stephen Hunt / Petr Cech bollocks, why dig that up again?

I lost a lot of respect for Oliver Holt today.
