I bought myself a new GPS yesterday. Took an extended route home tonight from work (with less traffic lights than normal), and looking at the results on Strava I thought he cadence made for a pretty interesting/geeky graph. My rolling cadence seems pretty consistent at around 90RPM.

I always click on the 'timer' icon next to what looks like a balloon. Feels like a better representation to me.

Yes, I enjoy the timer button too. It means I can measure how fast I was at repairing a puncture. My most recent repair kept me stationery for 8 mins.

Van Rysel, Decathlons new "high end" range has been launched. Using their existing Ultra AF frames as a starting point, Decathlon have re-branded the B'Twin range, & will also be introducing a TT aero bike, plus new designs over the next couple of years as the label grows. Theres also a range of clothing and shoes under the Van Rysel name too (shoes already available on the website) Looks good!

This is interesting, I had 2020 penciled in as the year I upgrade the bike, which is the same year they expand the Van Rysel range to include disk brake carbon models and also an aero model. I will watch with interest as this could be a genuine option.

Otherwise, I was looking at my local bike shop, which specialises in custom builds using lesser known Italian brands (Ciocc anyone?), which gives the huge incentive of being able to customise the paint scheme on the bike and basically have a bike that is built for me.

Really?? I had genuinely never heard of Ciocc before.

I've seen them about, mainly the older (vintage) ones on Ebay.

Are you sure you want to go down that route, bearing in mind you can't put fishing tackle on an Italian bike, so you'll have no groupset crossover with your current bike?

Not sure, not upgrading until next year, so I've got a year to think about it anyway.

I'll have a good look around nearer to the time.

The record is 43.5 hours.
We'll cut you some slack and expect it done in 50 hours.

Well done mate, brilliant.

I did it in 2012 as a 50th birthday present to myself and it was one of the best things that I have ever done. I still have friends from it from all over the UK, people who I would obviously never have met otherwise.

Take your time...ignore competitive Stat...take photos, drink in the whole experience. Memories are made of this.

PM me if you need training advice etc. You will not regret doing this. It is superb.

Probably late to the party, but just watched The Program. Felt like a good portrayal of the fraud that is the Armstrong lie.

I also watched Stop At Nothing. A doco about the same lies.

If you've not seen either I'd highly recommend them.

Icarus is the gold standard in doping films.
You need to keep watching because it takes an almighty turn after about 45 minutes.

Popped into Velusso Cafe & the charity bike shop in Ditchling on Saturday afternoon...ended up staying for 2 hrs enjoying the coffee and Womens racing from Australia on the TV. First time I've been in there, but definitely wont be the last! Great little place.

Hi cycling geeks.

On Wednesday afternoon 1.45pm and 3pm (13th February) at the Lee Valley Velo Park there is a cycling masterclass and Q and A with one of the most erudite and outspoken cyclists Callum Skinner, all equipment provided and the cost of £75 is just to cover the track and buffet.

PM me for information if interested or visit Legacy 300 on Facebook and have a look at the events page.
