well I saw him first so he's mine, and nobody else can have him.

I did go back to change HR, but it's not possible, so I'm sticking with my team.

This race is 7 picks v 7 for each person really. Everyone will surely have Sagan and Roulston. As for seeing riders first, you do tend to see something that the rest of us cannot with your team picks...

I know I'm going to regret saying this...but what is the big deal with Roulston? I had him for one of the early stage races, can't remember which one, and he did bugger all for me. I'll be looking elsewhere.

As P says, he's cheap and we've heard of him.
For all the other 3point value guys, they might as well have us lot.

He isn't great, but how may other 3 credit riders have finished 4th in Kuurne–Brussels–Kuurne and 10th in Paris–Roubaix in their career? Most of the others do not even have a palmares on wikipedia, those that do have certainly never had results that good in spring 'classics'.

I would love to see us trying to ride 300km, then climbing the Poggio. I suppose we would score 0 points which is probably the same as most of the 3.0 riders.

My exact reasons for choosing HR.

I can't stand U2, but when I saw that their lead singer is riding for Lampre, it was a no-brainer.

And I've heard of Rasch too.

Your methods of selection seem spookily close to mine.

What tyres are you planning on using? I'd want 28mm minimum, with a max psi of under 100. Anything more would be like riding wooden wheels.

After chatting to various people, and reading about other people's experiences online, I've gone down the route of the 28 mm tyre. I figure that they'll then come off, and will make good winter tyres next year.

I've gone for the Continental Grand Prix 4 Seasons.

I had no idea he had a palmares like that to be honest. Now I see what the big deal is. I still wont be picking him though, preferring to try to get someone in the break for my 3 credits instead. Watch Roulston go in the break now

With Billy Bonnet, the (less than) secret Frenchie and the lead singer of U2!!!

Think I'll end up settling for this:

The Sagan
4 Italians
1 Aussie
1 Belgian
1 Frenchie
1 Canadian

This is a great thread although, if I may be so bold, too dominated by the fantasy team stuff. It takes a while to wade through it to get to the cycling chat. How about splitting it?

Anyway - Milan San-Remo. Its hard to see past Sagan but I fancy Nibali to attack, get a good gap on the descent off the poggio then hold on for the win

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Thought you'd be up for the fantasy game this year. It's a fair point about the thread and I'm afraid I'm probably more guilty than most for prattling on about the fantasy game

As for your MSR prediction - it's exactly what I'm hoping for and is my prediction too. I think it's just a question of whether he can hold everyone off or not on the run in. Did you see the Poggio descent video I posted earlier? It's going to get very interesting if the forecast rain materialises that's for sure.

I think the beast that is fantasy takes precedent in the run up to each event.
I do like to nurdle things along between times with random thought and musings, some take some don't, such is life.

I think there'll be more chit chat the more cycling being done, once it stops snowing/raining/hail/plague of locusts.
Not to mention the chaps setting off to Roubaix.

If these to are fretting, my 50p ew on a double hard bar steward like Stybar might not be so stooopid, after all.

SB ,how's the cotter pins?

My fragile disposition couldnt take the rejection anymore!!!
One day I'll get back to it, but as soon as a quick turnaround wasn't possible I lost interest and it went into my 'to do' pile.

You really don't want to know how big that pile is.
