Yesterday's 'chance' was not a sitter. Was never going to go in from that angle, no matter who hit it.

PLEASE use eyes/brain combo before engaging keyboard from here on in :dunce:

Tom at 46 with dodgy eyesight, unfit and bloated even I could have put that one in mate.

It's all very well saying he has no confidence, but why not? Becuase he's been missing sitters. Scoring on your debut should give you some confidence surely? But to be honest, the chance he missed against Yeovil, it doesn't come any easier than that. He is what his goalscoring record suggests - very very mediocre indeed.

No,He was dropped by oldham came to a club in which he has been thrown into a relegation threatened the team and missed a few chances in his first few games he played that with the being thrown into a relegation atmosphere would cause anyone to feel under pressure thus causing bad performances even thou yesterday i felt he had a decent game

it's not just about missing "sitters" - his lack of effort, poor passing, pathetic attempts to head the ball and bottling out of tackles doesn't warm him to those paying his wages.

One word for him. Lumbering.

Of course, when he scores the hat-trick on the final day of the season that keeps us up on goal difference, I will declare him the 'Genius Chosen By Our Lord' that he undoubtedly is.

I'm fickle. Live with it.

lack of effort is the one thing you cannot say about him. Don't stop running and looks gutted at the end of the games.

Good to see that NSC has found its new hate figure though didn't take long

Thats it lets blame one player lets talk about all the things you have said
"His lack of effort"- Listen in sorry but he make an effort most people even who dont like davies will agree he does try hard and puts an effort in
"Bottling out of tackles"- I Didnt think that was a strikers job why should he make tackles that criticism makes no sense to me at all
"Pathetic attempts to head the ball"-This is also an unfair criticism no player dosent try not to head the ball sorry but they dont

And in all honesty most of the team have been guilty of all of this all season so why does everyone pick on him is it because he is the most obvious choice or do people just like jumping on the bandwagon?:annoyed:

ok i might not be in a position to judge his effort but the output from whatever effort/running he puts in is mediocre to say the least. Looking gutted at the end of matches is not something i want to see from our players, i want to see them celebrating.

Yeah course you would :tosser:

Davies is lacking confidence in front of goal I'll give you that but I've got no complaints over his general performances. He has been giving 100% and has caused opposition defenses all sorts of problems, he's a very intelligent footballer who's skills seem to be not appreciated by certain people. Probably by the same people who criticise Murray just because he's not running around like a headless chicken like Revell.
Get off his back FFS, he's a proven goalscorer at this level and if he can nick a goal it will do him the world of good.

I think i understand your post.

i don't think strikers are excused from making tackles.

he might improve his heading if he watched the ball rather than the defender behind him.

How on earth have you come to the conclusion that Davies is an intelligent player?

To be honest, I don't view him as a hate figure for his footballing issues [although I wish he'd concentrate on placing the ball in the bottom right hand corner, rather than trying to get it on to the London-Brighton line] - it's just that when the linesman, who was pretty dodgy, got the volley of abuse from him, I just wanted Davies to be sent off. There and then.

In a week when Capello gets grief for branding Rooney a 'crazy man' and when my son's club sends me a Ray Winstone advert asking me to have 'Respect' as a watching Dad, I guess I was just a bit miffed at listening to him - and the subs warming up - giving the bloke such a lot of foul mouthed grief. But apparently that's what wins games - I believe it's called 'Passion'? God help us . . .

Oh no. I've turned into my Dad.

Fair enough, I was in the Family Stand and couldn't see the chance at the end that well, but from where I was he was unopposed, made decent enough contact and I was just waiting for the ball to hit the back of the net.

Also, you seemed to be very impatient with Glenn Murray when he first came. Infact, you seem pretty anti him now. Can I ask, without having a go, what the difference is between him and Davies? Has Davies got the potential because he 'gets into the positions to score'

Whilst many slag off Craig Davies' 'miss' yesterday, there strangely seems to be no mention of Mr Murray's chance in the 1st Half - when he blazed over when it probably would've been easier to put the ball in the back of the net.

Hmmmmmmmmm..

Just thought i would add my opinion on this
Murray is out of davies class and anyone who claims davies is better or has more potential is deluded but as i said i dont think davies should be the sole bearer of all this blame as i think all the players this season have been been guilty of the same mistakes
