It was an attempt to show that this "everyone should pay the full amount of their debt" stuff going on on here is complete nonsense. Nobody with a heart would be claiming that African nations should be bound by inescapable debt. Nobody would say that any normal company in receivership should not be enabled to make their debt more managable, or that someone who has huge credit card bills which would leave them destitute and homeless should receive no help either.

But because it's CPFC in question, apparently going into administration is disgraceful.

Not quite the same though is it ? Granted Croydon is a bit of a dump but it's not really poverty stricken is it ? Are there people staving to death in South London ?

If you are fussy and will only eat fresh vegetables and non processed meat, I'd imagine you'd be in a sport of bother down there.

So glad it didn't come to losing our club. Who would Brighton have been rivals with if we had folded? Bournemouth?
Initially no one (like Charlton) but thereafter who knows. We're not all that fond of Southampton, Portsmouth, Bournemouth, Reading and a few others, but to say we have a rivalry with them would be stretching a point. I expect it would take an 'incident' to get things going with another club.

Give it a rest you self-pitying pillock.

When two owners in ten years have taken our club to the brink of extinction through being complete twats, I think we're deserving of some self pity, as you are for not haviung a home for so long. It's time for the FA to see what's happened with us and realise it's time to bring in proper regulations to stop teams getting into such situations, ie limits on spending, proper checks on people taking over etc etc.

Hmm not convinced any of you actually felt like that as you rode the crest of unlimited funds and flirtation with the Premiership. In fact I remember you (not you personally but Palace fans) giving it large on here as to how you were different gravy to us with your Internationals etc etc. Never a hint it might go pear shaped.

Done you some good to almost be liquidated, I can sense a bit of humility. Don't overdo do it though, it'll make you harder to hate

Every team's fans like to brag and boast about being better than their rivals. I remember when you got bought by this Bloom guy, there were guys saying that Brighton were gonna be bigger than Palace within two years, and that in five years you'd be playing European football?!

On a similar theme, I doubt any Palace fans complained when we got promoted in 2004, but how many of you questioned what Bloom was going to do with the club when he came in with all this money and announced his big plans? All I could hear during that time was "we're gonna be bigger than Palace".

Plenty questioned it. Do some searching on here.

Baloney. Your club are serial financial cheats. It is in the dna. It will happen again.

And few questioned over the years.

It makes me feel a little queasy when you try and make out there is some comparison between our clubs situation over the years.
