NSC is very well know for wind-ups. Just find it a little annoying that something which has been mentioned no-where else apart from here is brought up.

And the People is well known for printing bullshit. Has 'Lynch to Stoke' been mentioned anywhere else?:)

Exactly , mid/lower table mediocrity without one of our few 'personality' players will cause the attendance to be even lower.

I truly wish more people would sit up and take notice of this man.
I personally didn't go between Millwall and Cheltenham because of the club's selling policy. I'm not there to subsidise or help realise a pipe dream. People will vote with their feet if this pattern continues to be repeated.

Well that one was probably slightly true as Pullis was quoted as saying we wanted 1 million for him, there clearly was some interest from Stoke.

Kazim-Richards was sold the week before Bristol City away, which as a disloyal fan, I went to. Millwall away was around the following week and I only went to that to have a drink with a few Millwall boys I know before the game.

I wanted to mention it on the phone in, but Harty didn't ask.....so;

Such rumours are perhaps an excellent sign of our ascendancy, since that's when the rumours start, and especially for us. Clubs may watch for us to have reasonable players so they can cherry-pick us on the cheap. They won't mind chucking us a low bid for good players and see us struggle!

On the other hand;
250,000 would be an insult for Cox.
If there was any truth in these rumours, it would signal abject desparation. If we're threatened with extinction at any moment, selling our best assets might make a little bit of sense, but otherwise it would be absolutely suicidal to pull the wheels off a decent team for poltry pennies.
Fans will again drift away from the club (and I'd be one of them), and we would lose more than a quarter mil on lost gate receipts.

CKR was sold because he didn't want to play for us though?!

seems like very fuzzy logic there.

Yes, he didn't want to play, but was just the straw that broke the came's back after our failure to sign anyone in Jan widow despite so many rumours.

OOI who did we buy with the Kazim-Richards (or any other player that's been sold)'s money?

Didn't the money go into "the Falmer Black Hole"?

At the risk of invoking the spirit of Mr Kanchelskis, I'll repeat what I said on the Lynch thread:-

By the clubs own admission we are not financially down due to Falmer; and the newish deal they struck on Withdean was said to be significantly favourable. But just out of interest, what is the break even figure for Withdean taking into account ALL running costs including player salaries etc. I understand the wages side of things has been greatly reduced over the past year or so.

I seem to remember reading that we have to get crowds over 6000 to break even. We are struggling to do that at the moment with 500 tickets given away to the kids. Get your mates to come down to the dean for a few matches and we might have more chance of keeping hold of our younger players in Jan.

If the board sell Cox for £250k it is outrageous, he must be worth at least £750k - £1million. Just because we're in financial difficulties, dosen't mean we should let other clubs rip us off. Lynch going would be a blow but not as bad as if Cox goes.

Why would you think he is worht a million after just half a seasons football?

I would think based on what he has achieved so far £250k is about right based on possible potential a little more £350 - £400k but how many clubs can afford to buy players based on possible potential and I am talking of clubs that may be interested in him not the likes of Arsenal Chelsea etc.

Perhaps if a few more people got to games at Withdean we wouldn't have to sell players so readily.

Cox is a far better player than Lynch, far better, £ 500 000 for the over rated Lynch should be snapped up and keep Mum before the trading standards get onto it, much like how we mugged Leeds for the hopeless Harding but Cox, the most exciting player this club has produced in a decade for £ 250 000, he is worth
£ 1 000 000 and if we sell him for £ 250 000 I will never renew my season ticket again.

Agree with pretty much all of this.

Welcome back, btw.
