Cox to Sunderland for £250,000

Why would you think he is worht a million after just half a seasons football?

Because for creative, attacking, goalscoring midfielders, it's a sellers' market. Maybe not a million, but if he gets 15 goals from midfield this season, he's going to be near it.

Exactly L1.You tell me another 19 year old who gets 15 goals a season and countless assists. His value will increase the more he bangs them in

Who to blame for having to sell our best players?

"I can't be arsed to go to Withdean as there is no atmosphere/noise there."
The fans who want to go to WestHam but just couldn't make the Northwich or Stafford games.

If our average gate moved from 5.2k to 7.2k - which is what were getting a lot last season for (apparently) the worse season in our entire history - that would be an extra million quid to spend on, or help keep, players.

I think has a lot to do with the other team as well, Leeds will bring more than most if not all than the teams in the current league.

Come on, we were just a few short of 7.2k for the likes of Luton. There is more to it than that.

Completely agree...Another thing to consider is that he has just signed a new contract which will take him upto 2010. This'll therefore mean that the buying club will have to "buy-out" the contract...A million on his current form is not far off.

Cox is never worth a million at this point. 500k, 750k at most, but I think if his form continues until the end of the season he will be worth a mil. He seems to have genuine talent which means the club is in a decent position, especially with the length of his contract.

Perhaps if a few more people got to games at Withdean we wouldn't have to sell players so readily.

Well said. The stay-away fans are some of the first to complain, but we have to sell if we are not generating enough revenue! There is only so much the Withdean faithful can do....

Ps Mentioning this sort of rumour on the radio is bound to unsettle Cox and the team. Nice one Harty
