This is not a military coup apparently, it's military constitutionalism as per Section 212 of The Zimbabwean Constitution.

:lolol: sounds like a fancy way of saying coup.
unless they've changed their constitution since 2013, section 212 says only:

212
Function of Defence Forces The function of the Defence Forces is to protect Zimbabwe, its people, its national security and interests and its territorial integrity and to uphold this Constitution.

which is as vague as it is broad, especially the "uphold the constitution", as any military action they say is in defense of the constitution is covered. genius drafting there.

The Youth League are now referring to it as a 'National Democratic Project' and their leader Kudzai Chipanga, who is now under arrest is praising the Zimbabwean Army for their conduct, despite saying they were prepared to die for Mugabe yesterday.

Really? It looks pretty much the same as right-wing Pinochet's Chile from where I'm sitting. Only with 3,000 fewer dead bodies.
Looney has also forgotten Argentina under the Junta and Franco's Spain among others.

You mean the Chile that grew wealthy and prosperous where the general stood down when he lost the referendum on his rule?(He won the first one). And didn't slaughter farmers for racist motives?

So Argentina is facist now? I thought Thatcher was and they were the good guys.

Oh well. if Corbyn gets in there will be plenty of bodies to count even if you cant work out what ideology it is.

Not now but in the 70's it was ruled by a right wing military junta that slaughtered and tortured thousands, many were never found and known as " The Disappeared " All extreme ideology tends to go this way, right or left. That's why its so funny when people say they are petrified of a Labour government and their "extreme " left wing views as if they would set up death camps and summary executions for anyone who disagreed with them.

Actually they both thought the war would be good for shoring up their positions, Agentina would thank the generals for returning their lost lands and Thatcher thought it would show the world that she was a strong leader and that we would not back down from anyone.

No death camps in Venezuela (as far as we know) yet untold suffering and misery on an unimaginable scale and more to come. Remind me again of the Labour leadership view about this Socialist triumph?

Petrified?
