Barnes is gonna be sold for more than any other Albion player in history when he goes, he is THAT good potentially imo. I am assuming we will keep him for a couple of years of course.

According to the BBC, the Brentford keeper pulled off a string of great saves from Barnes. Most neutral observers believe Barnes had a brilliant game agains Oldham but again found a keeper in great form.

What strikes me is that not only does this boy get into goal scoring position after position, he gets his shots on goal. That's what must be exciting Gus and anyone who knows about football. If he was blazing the wide or over every time I'd be worried. But keep getting them on target and more goals will come (I nearly put "the goals will come" there, but of course he has already scored three).

Exactly!!!! He is not missing the target, he is getting in the goal scoring positions but last 2 games been faced with some great goal keeping. If he carries on like this he will definatly get 20+ goals this season....possibly be our 25 goal striker we've been wanting all summer!! I thought he was outstanding last night and him and Murray should definatly start on saturday, there really developing a good understanding now.

Barnes was really good last night, possibly his best performance so far in making a nuisance of himself and creating chances. Luck is not with him in front of goal but he still is our top scorer (I think).

The strike in the first half that was tipped over was genius and came from nothing.

He got even better when Murray came on. I am over the moon with his efforts so far this season - long may it continue.

Oh do one, he created the chances he had tonight out of very little, it's not as though any were sitters. The keeper (who had a good game IMHO) actually made cracking saves from two of his efforts.

Would you rather he didn't bother to move himself into positions in which he'd get chances? He played really well tonight, was him or El Abd (with Bennett close behind) for MoM from where I was sitting.

We don't often agree Edna, But on this, we do. Top post

Barnes is a very good player, making lots of opportunities for himself and others. He has been drasticly unlucky in front of goal and only has 3 this season but could quite possibly have had 5 this week alone.

He is good at getting his shots on target, but could do with finding the corners of the goal a little more often. He could also do with increasing his strength on the ball and his pace with the ball at his feet.

However, I'm still expaxting 20 goals from him his season if he stays fit

85-1 with betfair to be leagues top scorer...Hmm if things click for him.....Unbelievable odds though.

Tis rather long odds for a starting striker in a promotion chasing team.

Can't see beyond the Posh strikers for the golden boot though. Hopefully our Ashley will run them close though
