Oooop North.....Manchester
Haven't seen tonights game yet, but it looks like he's a bit low on confidence. Give the guy a break. TOP OF THE LEAGUE and your moaning that he's getting into positions and not finishing them?! Just wait till it clicks...at least it's at a time when it can be afforded!

As others have said, he's 20 years old. He didn't score tonight, but he's still our top scorer for the season and he's a very important part of our team. His finishing will get better with age and experience, but in the meantime, so long as he keeps getting into the positions and keeps working hard, that's the minimum requirement.

Barnes had another excellent game tonight. He made a real nuisance of himself, got into great positions, had an absolute belter brilliantly saved by an excellent keeper in the first half, and yet people still complain, unbelievable...

It is murray that needs to perk up with a few, Barnes has put 110% in. Yes goal ratio is not fabulous but in my opinion we need a hot shot up front to partner him not moodswinger muzza

I'm not so sure he is that low in confidence to be honest. He run his socks off tonight coming deep and making runs, but brentford played very defensively throughout the game and fed on scraps or made his own chances such as his turn and shot that the keeper made a good save in the first half.

Second half when Murray came on it was just a different striker and team. He obviously knows Murray well and their partnership is blooming, whereas him and Sandanza just don't have that communication yet. He should've tucked one away in the second half to make it two nil, but several fine saves from their keeper and last ditch tackles by their defence denied him. For a 20 year old he's got bags to offer and definitely has an eye for goal. Enjoyed watching him tonight, pushed El-Abd very close for man of the match. Carry on Barnesy, doing a good job mate.

That's not really true. It's just that anyone with half a brain cell can see that he's creating chance after chance, and one day he's going to tuck about 4 of them away in one game. Hopefully against Bournemouth.

Hope so as I will be at Withdean that game!

He was quality tonight. He held the ball up great, linked up well with others, had a great touch, looked sharp, made chances and was generally class. Gutted for him not to score.

You would like to think someone soon, is going to get a proper thrashing from us. Read Poyets post match interview, he knows!!! Barnes is young, he is getting into good positions, thought his snap shot in first half was top draw. But he should have half a dozen at least so far, not three. It cant always be the keeper or the post, that comes to the rescue. Sometimes, just sometimes its because he could have done better. 11 or 12 chances last two games and one goal................thats not just bad luck, however much people want to defend him. But he is the best we got next to Murray, something which clearly conserns Poyet.

Hmm, however Holroyd with four goals in two games (yes I know it was in League Two Yadda, Yadda) could be come a factor. Clearly playing in front of fans who don't have such high expectations has made a big difference to him. Last night we where up against an excellent 'keeper and the Oldham 'keeper, Brill didn't do badly either, no cause for panic, especially when ourtwo closest rivals lost rather badly last night. Our stumble will come no doubt but right now we are three points clear which is a pretty good place to be.

I really don't know what people expect from Barnes. He was class last night. Lively - works the keeper more often than not and for me, links very well with Murray (not quite as well with Fran just yet....but early days)

I would be more worried if he wasn't creating chances. Didn't get the rub of the green last night but is scoring this season...

It would seem that some bellends, who start threads like this, are never happy. It's league 1. You are not going to get Anelka.:tosser:
