Fair enough. It isn't really worth arguing about as neither of us are going to change our minds. We will see how he does this season but hopefully he proves he is a good Championship player.

Barnes will be in double figures again goal wise this season which will suit me
I agree, I'd also like to see him positively affect the game between the 1st and 65th min as well a put the usual goal or two in, in the last 25 mins when he appears to decide to try

I am not going to get involved in another argument so will leave it after this post but this is the kind of rubbish that really irritates me. It is clearly not true but a lot of people just seem to make statements like this about Barnes. I imagine Gus must have seen him affect a game in that time or he wouldn't start with him but no doubt you know better.

How people, who I guess weren't even at the game, can be so negative is beyond me. It was a reasonable performance against a well-organised and technically very capable Cordoba side. On another day Barnes could have scored at least 2 but some would still have said he was sh*t. It's been said before but if people are so disappointed with, and critical towards, the team, manager and club why don't they just fu*k off and support someone else and leave the rest of us to enjoy what we have?

Good work our for both sides in a fairly competitive pre-season friendly. Their midfield bossed the game but we defended well and broke dangerously on a number of occasions. Bruno was excellent as was Vicente in fits and starts + Bridcutt had a good game. Barnes missed 3 or four chances.

Oh no! The Barnes lickers are full of their own self importance on the back of things they refuse to see. Gonna be a long season.

Play against quality opposition & the same problems are blatantly there as last season. Create few scoring chances, don't score!
Gus has not addressed our forward problem. The last 10 games of the season we were rubbish. If this is not addressed we will continue where we left off. The defence & goalie may have been improved, but your not going to win games if we concede first (like last season).
The pressure will be on Poyet & rightly so, if he doesn't get us a decent forward & rightly so.
Now for the abuse...
